  • Terrible.

Weeds is really having an up and down, hot and cold season. The summer started off strong, but things got bad in a hurry. After a strong episode last week I thought they were out of this funk, but this was just a downright awful installment.

Outside of Andy's shenanigans and the brief appearance by Doug, there really was nothing funny about this installment. The show just needs to weed (no pun intended) out the old characters like Shane (hopefully he dies, but I doubt it), Celia and her husband and the Mexican mayor and focus on some new storylines.moreless

  • Decent episode with a good ending...

    6.9
Season 5 of Weeds keeps dragging like a daytime soap opera. Low on laughs and high on the usual gross stuff, this episode managed to wrap up with a overdose of drama.

I admit the final scene made my heart skip a beat, and with that said, I think Shane getting shot jumped the shark. Though obviously, the show needed a shot in the arm to start picking up. However, the last scene was a desperate attempt to push some drama in the story. The usual laugh givers Doug and Silas had pretty much zero screen time. Celia though annoying seems to be getting her share of the spotlight. Andy gave us a few laughs though certain aspects which he himself claims to be abnormal gave me the creeps. Well, its Weeds and I do get a laugh out of 14-year olds having sex and jerking off. I can deal with the awkwardness surrounding it.

I don't know, but I think the episode pulled it off.moreless
  • This ep took me through a few different reactions...but eww was a popular one

    8.5
For me this episode seemed SO short, I loved the Nancy/Andy shared parenting thing with them both getting up in the middle of the night and sharing a bed - even with that "wall of pillows", and I was glad that Estaban didn't have a freak out at Nancy and try to hurt her like I thought he would when I watched last week - I enjoyed his rant to Cesar while he went through Nancy's wardrobe at his house and his - "What is this? A shirt?" and then proceeding to rip whatever it was up after Cesar answers him.

I liked that Celia finally moved out, I hope Doug doesn't get scammed by that "pretty cosmetics" lady and I found the whole Shane might have an STD thing really gross (he's 14 for christ's sake! In case you're wandering it was a yeast infection) but I did like that Andy and Nancy handled it together (albeit trying to argue that their technique when parenting was better) and I like that Nancy wasn't moping about Estaban.

I thought it was sweet that Nancy's first night out (2 weeks after having "Stevie") she took Andy...of course the sweetness quickly deteriorated when Nancy realized that she forgot to pump her breast milk before they left the house and was in pain and then she had Andy help her out with that. WOW, I don't think a scene like THAT has been on T.V before. And he swallowed "so not to be a hypocrite" - yuck.

Estaban comes into the bedroom the next morning (he's just walked right in) and finds them asleep (cozied up to their pillow wall) and he wants to get married (again with the proposal), Nancy's not exactly thrilled (they've had this conversation before) and Andy makes them continue their conversation outside. Of course then he follows them down and sends Shane out to find out what their saying (paying him $20 because he "doesn't care"). The end shocked me, I found myself gaping at the screen and had to rewind to actually understand what had happened. Some guy just walks up and fires, Cesar fires back and kills him, Esteban pulls Nancy down and shields her with his body and then Shane calls out to her from the porch, his arm's bleeding - that b****** shot SHANE! and fade to black....so I know i'll be watching next week.moreless
