Welcome to Sweden

Show Summary

RETURNING JULY 19, 2015

Bruce (Greg Poehler) quit his job as a celebrity accountant to move to Sweden with his Swedish girlfriend Emma (Josephine Bornebusch). The life in Stockholm is a lot different from that in New York. He doesn´t have a job nor does he speak the language. We get to follow Bruce (Poehler) in his attempts to find a job and fit in to the Swedish society.

The show is based in Greg Poehlers own experiences from when he actually moved to Sweden with his wife.
The show is in both English and Swedish.
First season has already been shown in Sweden.

Unbelievably lame - watching a real accountant crunch numbers in Excel would be more entertaining...

The pilot had a nice opening with Amy Poehler, but getting to Sweden seemed to drain all the humor out, leaving something best discribed as completely innocuous. I couldn't even make it all the way through that first episode, not because it was terrible, but because it is the equivalent of white bread.
  • NBC... puritanical editing... wtf

    2.0
I watched all 10 episodes when they aired in Sweden and although the entire programme attempts to be typically American centred around a single character - Bruce... He is only funny when being laughed at, not laughing with.

Then to add insult to injury of WtS, I watched the NBC (usa) version and it is highly edited with pixilation and scene cutting and incorrect translations of Swedish to English. It went from being mediocre to ermmm a typical C rate local production comedy in usa.

What were NBC thinking when they such extreme editing?? That was the only aspect that made the programme worth watching - excised by the religious fundamentalist rightwingnuts knife!

But it will go down well with puritanical yanks in the boring square states in the middle or the south (If it gets any ratings at all, and we all know a programme in usa is ONLY about the ratings - if it was about the programme, it would not have been sliced and diced to a level could understand LOLmoreless
