Surprisingly... good! I really enjoyed this episode. It was as if this show was going back to it's witty norm. Holly & Val competing for their dad's attention was very entertaining. Although some of the jokes didn't fly, it was still a very entertaining and eventful episode. The group dynamic was the best, and it's probably been the best group dynamic episode this season. With everyone being together like Tina, Gary, Vince, Vic and Lauren. We got some really good interactions. Although I did not like that they changed the actor that played Val & Holly's dad. At least we get an explanation on why Holly & Val never see their dad. The sister dynamic was also very great, since this episode was based on family. Yet like said before, they always find their way back to relationships which in this case was a good thing. Val realizes she's in love with Vic, so I'm sure that made a lot of fans happy. Ending the episode with everyone singing show tunes just made this a really feel good episode, that wasn't so focused on relationships.moreless
  • Holly and Val find out their dad is gay

    8.0
This episode certainly isn't what I had thought it would be. It was funny seeing Holly and Val freak out about their dad coming XD They wanted everything to be perfect; meaning, Vic had to leave, and Vince had to clean up. At dinner that night, Holly and Val both arrive an hour early so they could spend time with their father alone. They race each other to the kitchens to find him, but they find him making out with his male business partner. When Val blows his secret, she reveals Holly dropped out of college, and Val got married while drunk. Their dad isn't upset, and he tells Val not to let go of Vic. He can tell they both love each other.moreless

(outside the loft, Holly and Val catch Jack and Toshi making out)

    Holly and Val: (shocked) OH...MY...GOD!

Val: It's like everything we knew about Dad has changed. It's like he has this whole other life.

Holly: Do you think Dad ever calls Toshi 'tushie'? (edit)

Lauren(eavesdropping on Val, Jack, and Holly and telling Gary, Vic, Tina, and Vince what's going on): Okay, so he (Holly and Val's dad) turned gay three years ago. The wife, may she rest in peace, had no clue. But he loved her - they were 'soul mates.'

Vic: Lauren, do you really think you should be listening?

Lauren: No. No, I should be watching too. (screen pans over to Jack and the girls)

Jack: When I met your mot--(Lauren slides open the window, and all three glare at her.)

Val(to Vic; they are running): Come on! I got 3 inch heels on and I'm still runnin' faster than you! Is this how you run into a burning building?

Vic: Hey, I'm doing it on purpose, I'm watching you from behind-very sexy!

Val: Too sexy? Oh great. Now daddy's gonna think I'm a whore. Earlier today, he told me I was fat. Now I'm a fat whore.

Lauren(coming out of the kitchen; to Jack): Oh, hi daddy! (pushing Holly and Val out of the way) Pardone moui! The girls didn't tell me you were tall, silver, and handsome! (turns to Holly and Val) Call me 'mommy.' Just let me feel the beat of that!

    Great episode.moreless
  • I didn't enjoy this one.

    6.0
Holly and Val's father, Jack, is now visiting. They compete for his attention. Val doesn't want to tell him about Vic yet and Holly is afraid about her quitting college. Vince meets him, but it doesn't start that well. At dinner, Holly and Val go to see him, but what they find is very surprising to them. They tell Vic and Vince that they their dad kissing another guy in the kitchen. Lauren, Tina, and Gary also meet them there. When Jack announces that he and Toshi (the other guy) are business partners, Val takes it the other way. He, Val and Holly have a father-daughters talk while Lauren listens in. He tells them that he's gay while they confess about their mistakes. Later, they all have a great time singing and stuff, while Jack tells Val to stay with Vic because he can tell that she's in love with him.

This episode wasn't good. First of all, it wasn't that funny. It was nice seeing their dad, but then they ruined it by making him gay I don't agree with homosexuality. It is abnormal and I've already explained this in another WILAY episode about the lesbians. I give this episode a 6.0 out of 10.moreless
