  • All That's Chelsea Brumett guest stars!

    7.0
Chelsea Brumett acted so well in this episode, I feel really bad for Gary throughout the whole episode. It's really easy to hate Holly in this episode. It's so funny how Val & Holly are walking toward the elevator, then Samantha & Gary are making out, Holly's reaction is priceless. The B plot was okay. Pretty much Jeff buying a lot of sleeping wear for Val because he's jealous of Val's old boyfriend. This really marks as an episode that shows Jeff's stupidity, especially when Jeff was wearing that silly tank top. Samantha was so mean at the end, how she ditched them for a band guy, overall this episode is very laughable.moreless

Holly's best friend, Sam, is coming to visit! She is so excited and she is hoping that she, Gary and Sam can all be friends. Unfortunately, Gary doesn't like Sam and vice versa. Holly tries to convince Gary to give Sam a chance. The next day, Holly catches Gary and Sam making out. It turns out that they saw each other on the subway and started kissing. Holly then feels like a third wheel. When Jeff finds Val's sweatshirt, he finds out that she sleeps in it and it used to be her ex-boyfriend's. Jeff gets jealous and tries to make her not wear it. Sam ditches Gary to hook up with some other guys.

This episode was great! It was really cool seeing Chelsea Brummet! She was in All That like Amanda Bynes was. This episode gets a 10 out of 10!moreless
  • What I like About You

    8.7
I thought that Tankini was an okay episode. It wasn't all that great, but still it was pretty good. In this episode, Holly's old friend, Samantha Gray, moved into New York. Her and Samantha were friends in Junior high. Samantha and Gary don't like each other when they first meet, but the second day, Holly found them making out in the elevator. So they were like a couple. When Holly, Samantha, and Gary were meeting up to hang out, Samantha hooked up with this band guy. Holly got mad at her, and she told Gary, but Gary was okay with it. Val wears her ex-boyfriends Harvard sweatshirt to bed. Jeff gets jealous so he buys Val other things to sleep in. She only likes the Harvard sweatshirt. Jeff ends up wearing an ex-girlfriends cami to try to make Val jealous, but Val just laughs. They make up at the end.moreless

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Holly: (to Samantha) Come on, it's your first movie in New York. Where else can you pay $14 a ticket for a broken seat?

    • Jeff: (to Val) I brought you something cozy to sleep in tonight! (pulls out pajamas an old lady would wear)
Val: Oh! Great! Now we'll be twins!
      Jeff: You and Holly?
      Val: No. Me and Nanna!
Jeff: Can't a guy buy his girlfriend, flame-retardant sleepwear without it being about something?
Val: No! I-i-it's nice and all, but I like my sweatshirt!
Jeff: Then let me introduce you to option number two! (pulls out lingerie from a Victoria's Secret bag) Do not tell me Nanna has that one, too!

    • Val(after Jeff brings her a sweatshirt that says, "Pleasant Dreams, Foo'!"): Don't be jealous of the sweatshirt, foo'!

    • Jeff: (to Val) Can't a guy buy his girlfriend flame-retardant sleepwear without it being about something?

    • Holly: So, word on the street - the pyramids might be spaceships.
Gary: Oh, you heard that too, huh? Oh and Stonehenge - one rock, lots of mirrors.
Holly: I really hope you don't die a virgin.

    • Holly (to Gary): How would you like it if me and Sam were making out all the time?
      Gary (ponders): Well...
Holly: You know what I mean.

    • Holly (to Gary and Samantha who are kissing): So, I heard the movie's really great!... ending supposed to be really cool... it's gonna be showing that way.

    • Holly: (to Samantha and Gary) Hey, you guys really had me going! I totally bought it, the doors opened, you were all makin' out and I was like --(Gary and Samantha start kissing again; Holly cuts herself short) whoa, hey look, it's happening again!

    • Val: Where you headed?
Holly: To hanging out with my two best friends who hate each other. We're gonna see a movie, eat some popcorn, oh did I mention, hate each other.

    • Holly: What happened?
Gary: Well, right after I left, I ran into Sam on the subway, and the car was really crowded. And all of a sudden, it kinda jerked and we fell down, and I was like, "Get offa me!"
Samantha: And I was like, "You get offa me!"
Gary: And we both kinda looked at each other...
Samantha: You know that thing where you're on a subway arguing with this guy and then the next minute you're on the floor making out with him!
Holly: Sure, that's why I don't take cabs!

    • Holly: I was afraid this was gonna happen... you don't like hanging out with us because you feel like the third wheel.
Gary: I don't feel like the third wheel... I just think the second wheel sucks!
Holly: Look, just give her a chance. Once you get to know her, you will love her!
Gary: That's what my dad said when he brought home "New Mommy"!

    • Holly: In junior high, Sam and I used to do everything together. We were inseparable. We called ourselves "The Three Musketeers!"
      Gary: Who was the third?
Holly: Oh, Angela Simpson. But she left us for another clique.
Gary: Which one, "The Fab Four" or "The Magnificent Seven?"
      Holly: No, "The Hare Krishnas!"

    • Holly: Look guys, let's focus on the good times, all right? Remember, we all had nachos... with cheese.

  • NOTES (6)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The A-Team
This show ran on NBC from 1983-1987. It was about a crack commando unit that was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. Thus, they call themselves "The A-Team."

    • Foreshadowing Romance Between Samantha and Gary
Samantha's last name is "Gray," but her last name can be refigured to say "Gary." In addition gray is the color that results from the combination of black and white and coincidentially Gary is black and Samantha is white.
