  • Val and Holly try to start their own Thanksgiving tradition while Gary and Jeff search for the perfect turkey.

In some ways, this epsiode was funny, but it definitely isn't my favorite. Holly and Val lie to their aunt so they can start their own Thanksgiving traditions. This plan goes awry when their aunt shows up and believes Holly is sick. When they finally are able to get the aunt to leave, they get to work on their own traditions. Meanwhile, Gary and Jeff argue about spending nearly $400 on a turkey. When their train gets stuck, they're forced to share the turkey with the hungry passengers. When the gang sit down to eat, the aunt returns with the family, and ruins the dinner.moreless
  • Season 1, Episode 9.

    9.0
Ah, a holiday-themed episode. Not necessarily a bad episode. Holly and Val reminisce about how they hated spending Thanksgiving with their Aunt Wanda, and then she shows up at their door. Val: You haven't said anything about my new haircut.

Aunt Wanda: Well, it's very flattering.

    Val: Really?

Aunt Wanda: Yes, it draws attention away from your ears.

Jennie Garth doesn't really look pregnant, although I never realize that they are covering her stomach all the time.

Gary: When we're eating it we won't regret the money we spent.

Jeff: You didn't spend any money.

Gary (grinning): And I'm not regretting it.

They run down to the dumpster for the turkey at the end... Cool episode.moreless
  • Thanksgiving at the Tyler's...

This was a very special episode because it was a holiday episode! And that makes it special. The A plot with the aunt is so funny, with her making that shake ruining thanksgiving. While Holly pretended to be sick & Val didn't step up & didn't tell her aunt that she just couldn't stand her. The B plot was funnier than the A plot because the subway theme is flawless, with them & the turkey, while everyone is hungry. Then when both plots merged & the whole family came for thanksgiving, the day was completely ruined & Val was the only one who tasted the 400 dollar turkey!moreless
  • Mr. Turkey

    9.0
Holly and Val want to spend a nice Thanksgiving alone, instead of going to their Aunt Wanda's. They apparently don't like Aunt Wanda. Jeff and Gary fetch the perfect turkey, a McArthur Red. But they find out that there is a better turkey, the McArthur Gold. Jeff spends $400 on that turkey. On the way home, Jeff and Gary get stuck in the subway. At the apartment, Holly and Val tell Aunt Wanda that Holly is sick, so they can't come, causing Aunt Wanda to go there to take care of Holly. The passengers on the subway are hungry, so Jeff and Gary share the turkey. Holly and Val lie to make Aunt Wanda leave. They are about to have the perfect Thanksgiving, but Aunt Wanda returns with the whole family.

This episode was really good! It was funny with the whole turkey thing! This episode gets a 9.0 out of 10 from me!moreless
  • Another hilarious episode!

    10
This episode is about how Holly and Val want to spend Thanksgiving together because its the first Thanksgiving since Holly moved in and they usually go to their grandmothers house which they hate going to any way. So in this episode Gary and Jeff set out to find a great turkey but when they see a better turkey for $400 dollars they get that one. Jeff and Gary end up getting stuck on the subway. When Val calls her grandmother to tell her they weren't coming beccause they were spending Thanksgiving at their apartment, Val chickens out and tells her they aren't coming because Holly is sick. When their grandmother pays an unexpected visit they tell her the truth. Gary, Holly, Jeff, and Val are finally all together getting reay to eat and their grandmother shows up again. This time she has brought the whole family over to there apartment. Luckely Gary and Jeff manage to save one peice of the precious chicken, but it ends up falling in the dumpster after only Val got to taste it. Jeff and Gary go to retreive it. A very funny episode!moreless
