Game 1: Mr. O. E. Tibbs (Edwin Tibbs)(1/7/1909 - 8/1982) - "Test Pilot For Jet Bombers" (salaried; he is the chief test pilot for Martin Company bombers; he donated his game winnings to the Baltimore Community Chest; from Baltimore, MD)

Game 2: Mrs. E. K. Greenberger (Eva Greenberger) - "Runs Fat Men's Clothing Shop" (self-employed; she owns and operates her clothing store for overweight men; from New York, NY)

Game 3: Fernando Lamas (1/9/1916 - 10/8/1982) (as Mystery Guest)

Game 4: Miss Eileen Domellan - "Gas Station Attendant" (salaried; she works at the Shell Gasoline Station on Gasoline Alley, she said the station was located at Hillside and Metropolitan Avenue; she did not name her hometown, since time was running short and both John and Bennett failed to ask; I suspect she was from NY, where such an intersection does exist, near NY Interstate Highway 678, the Van Wyck Expressway)

      • FLIP REPORT: John flipped the remaining cards for the first contestant at eight down because time was running short. He donated his full winnings to the Baltimore Community Chest. John flipped the five remaining cards for the final contestant at five down because time had run out. - agent_0042 (2008)

      • (1) "WML?" SPONSOR WATCH: The main sponsor for this evening's edition is Jules Montenier, Inc.'s Stopette brand.
        (2) FRED ALLEN QUIP WATCH: During the intros, Fred Allen introduced Arlene as "a charming young lady who some years ago married another fellow, because the Answer Man wouldn't pop the question." The "Answer Man" was a 15-minute radio program that aired from 1937 to 1956. Former "WML?" panelist Steve Allen would also parody this program on his "Tonight!" show. (The Shell Oil advertisements of the same name were created by the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather at some point after they were hired by Shell Oil in 1960.)
        (3) MYSTERY GUEST FERNANDO LAMAS: Tonight, Fernando Lamas makes the first of two mystery guest appearances on "WML?" He will appear again on EPISODE #357 of April 7, 1957. At the time of tonight's edition, Mr. Lamas was appearing in the MGM CinemaScope musical "Rose Marie" in the role of "James Severn Lemaitre." His "suave Latin lover" image would be most notably parodied in 1984 by Billy Crystal as "Fernando" on "Saturday Night Live"; it was Mr. Crystal who made "You look marvelous!" a recurring catchphrase. For the real-life Fernando's mystery guest spot tonight, his nameplate on the panel moderator's desk is set in the customary Title Gothic Condensed No. 11 font.
        (4) "WML?" CREDITS CRUNCH WATCH: As of the June 25, 2008 airing of this episode, GSN once again was relentlessly clinging to its corruptible and contemptible "crunching" of the end credits.
        (5) The June 25, 2008 airing of tonight's show by GSN was followed by the October 3, 1966 edition of "I've Got a Secret," with host Steve Allen, the regular panel of Betsy Palmer, Bill Cullen, Bess Myerson and Henry Morgan, and celebrity guest Buddy Hackett. The first contestant was Ginny Tiu, a child-prodigy concert pianist, then 12 years old, who had been performing over half her life at the time of this "IGAS" episode; her secret was that she played by ear and could not read a note of music. - W-B (2008)

      • COMPANY HISTORY: The Martin Company was an aircraft company founded by aviation pioneer Glenn L. Martin in 1912. Martin merged with the American-Marietta Corporation in 1961 to form the Martin Marietta Corporation, which subsequently merged with the Lockheed Corporation in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin. - Suzanne (2005)

      • REVIEW: This was another night in which the panel batted .500 for the evening. They were totally stumped by the first contestant, who was a test pilot for the Glenn L. Martin Company. After his win, he told John that he was giving his winnings to the Baltimore Community Chest. John then took the opportunity to make a brief public service announcement about the importance of the various community chest funds and that the drives for donations were beginning. In the second game, Dorothy, who wound up being the hot one, successfully guessed that the second contestant ran a clothing store for fat men. Of course, in today's more politically correct environment, these shops would be called "big and tall" stores. Dorothy also correctly guessed that the mystery guest was Argentinean heartthrob Fernando Lamas. After the game, Fernando brought out his lovely bride, Arlene Dahl, who had been a mystery guest six months earlier. Unfortunately, the panel ran out of time and the final challenger, a female gas station attendant, won the full prize by default. - Sargebri (2005)

MYSTERY GUEST: Four years after Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl were wed, the couple welcomed their only child, Lorenzo Lamas, on January 20, 1958. Like his father, Lorenzo would grow up and become a major heartthrob. He appeared on several television shows, most notably, the 1981-1990 prime time soap opera "Falcon Crest." - Sargebri (2005)

      • Fernando Lamas and Arlene Dahl were married from 1954 until their divorce in 1960. Fernando was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. - Suzanne (2005)

Tidbits: There are no guest walk-bys before the panel this evening. Additionally, John dispensed with the free wild guess segment for the final contestant due to time constraints. - Suzanne (2005) and agent_0042 (2008)

Panel: Dorothy Kilgallen, Fred Allen, Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf.
