      • SAD IRONY: The ultimate tragedy of the kinescope of this episode being lost to history is in connection with GSN's month-long airings, between July 8 and August 14, 2006, of "WML?" episodes with at least one baseball-related figure as either a guest panelist or mystery guest. The GSN tribute was in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Baseball Hall of Fame, and tonight's mystery guest, Ty Cobb, was the Hall of Fame's very first inductee in 1936. If it had survived, this episode most certainly would have been aired as part of the 2006 tribute. Unfortunately, this was Ty Cobb's only CBS "WML?" appearance. - W-B (2007)

      • Even though Ty Cobb's December 7, 1958 "What's My Line?" episode is lost to history, a brief appearance of Cobb on a September 28, 1955 episode of "I've Got A Secret" still survives and has been broadcast on GSN. It was an episode where producer Allan Sherman had the "bright idea" to have a show of secrets centered on baseball. However, Sherman then mistakenly cast Kitty Carlisle, a non-sports fan, as a guest panelist the same night. At the top of the program, when Garry revealed his big surprise to the panel - that the contestants' secrets all concerned baseball - you could see this horrified look on Kitty's face in the wide shot of the panel. As could be expected, Kitty was not able to ask any meaningful professional sports questions all evening. It got to a point where Garry Moore even excused her from asking any questions at all! - Eric Paddon (2006)

      • Per Gil Fates' handwritten logs, no kinescope of this episode exists. It was accidently destroyed. - Suzanne (2003)

      • Panel: Arlene Francis, Fred Allen, Dorothy Kilgallen, Bennett Cerf.
