    • HAPPY NEW YEAR 1957!!! This was the first show of 1957 and the panel did a great job this particular night. In the first game, Dorothy correctly guessed that the first contestant was a pilot. The only hiccup came in the second game when the panel failed to figure out that the contestant operated a roulette wheel. In fact, as it was pointed out, Dolly Mae was a customer of his during her trip to Cuba. Fortunately, she failed to recognize him and the game went off without a hitch. After the game, John also said they had flown back to the states on the same airplane. In the mystery guest round, Arlene (aka White Mink) got the biggest laugh of the night when she asked if Yul Brynner had curly blonde hair, to which she promptly got a big fat no. However, that probably gave guest panelist Peter Lind Hayes a huge hint as he promptly guessed that it was Brynner. In the final game, Arlene made up for her earlier gaffe when she correctly figured out that the contestant was a pollster. - Sargebri (2005)

After Brynner left the stage, Arlene said she wanted to ask him about his role in the previous year's biblical epic film, "The Ten Commandments," in which Brynner played "Rameses" and Charlton Heston, who was a mystery guest a few weeks earlier, played "Moses." The film would later become a staple on television for years to come. However, the film has gone down over the years as one of the camp classics of all times due to the overacting not only by Brynner and Heston, but by the rest of cast as well, in addition to the pretentious dialogue. As a result of all these factors, it was named one of the worst films of all time in the book of the same name. - Sargebri (2005)
