    • FLIP REPORT: When John Daly announced that Anne Jeffreys' and Robert Sterling's syndicated television show was named "Mr. and Mrs. North" instead of the correct name "Topper," he was immediately stopped and corrected by Robert Sterling. This embarrassed John, who replied, "I'm sorry! Oh, oh my! Goodbye!" and momentarily stood up as if threatening to leave the theatre. In a most unusual move, during John's dramatic apology, Robert Sterling reached out and flipped the remaining two cards at eight down. Usually, it was only ever John who touched the cards. John acknowledged his mistake and sportingly agreed to the flip by saying, "Throw them all over -- I did that." For the record, all mystery guests were paid an unpublicized appearance fee of $500. - agent_0042 (2008)

JOHN DALY'S GAFFE: It is unknown why John made the mistake in naming Robert Sterling's and Anne Jeffreys' television program "Topper," but John's mistake did refer to an early radio program; motion picture; and its television series spinoff. In 1943, the motion picture "Mr. and Mrs. North" was released, starring Gracie Allen and William Post Jr. in the title roles. In 1952, the TV series was released, starring Richard Denning and Barbara Britton as detectives Jerry and Pam North. - Suzanne (2008)
