    • THE PRODIGAL SON COMES HOME!!! This was a very special night as Steve Allen made a special appearance on the panel. Joining him was his lovely wife, Jayne Meadows, who was filling in for Arlene who was still in Germany filming "One, Two, Three." Unfortunately, after a strong beginning, the panel fell flat tonight. They especially faltered in the mystery guest round, where for the first time in quite a while, they were absolutely stumped. Things got off to a bang as Dorothy correctly guessed that the first contestant from Scotland operated a brewery. In the second game, the panel was absolutely stumped by the dog catcher from New Jersey. Things really took a turn for the worse when the panel was absolutely stumped by "The Price is Right" host and "I've Got a Secret" panelist Bill Cullen, who almost strained his voice while being questioned. Ironically, Bill almost gave himself away after he used his real voice while Steverino was questioning him. Interestingly, neither Steve nor any of the other panelists caught on. This definitely put a stake through the heart of the panel, as after a great start, the panel went home with their collective tails between their legs. - Sargebri (2006)

"WHAT'S MY LINE?" & "I'VE GOT A SECRET": Tonight's episode definitely had an "I've Got a Secret" feel to it as Steve Allen, Jayne Meadows and Bill Cullen all either had connections to "WML?'s" "little sister show" or were going to have connections to it in the future. Bill was on the "IGAS" panel from 1952 until the show's cancellation in April 1967, a few months before "WML?" was cancelled. This was Bill's third and final "WML?" appearance, his last two (including tonight) as a mystery guest. He only appeared on the "WML?" panel once, in EPISODE #25 of November 19, 1950, one of the majority of pre-1952 "WML?" episodes that are today lost to history. Jayne was on the "IGAS" panel for seven years from 1952 until 1959. Finally, in 1964, Steve replaced Garry Moore to become the host of "IGAS" until its cancellation. "IGAS" panelist Bess Myerson, however, never made any appearances on "WML?" in the 17.5 years it was on CBS, but did appear on the syndicated "WML?" in 1973 as a mystery guest. - Sargebri (2006) with additional info by W-B (2008)
