    • QUOTES (1)

      • Bennett: Are you at present appearing in New York at either a night club or a hotel room?
John: Mr. Cerf, um, I don't think that the exact, present residence of our guest is pertinent or relevant to the, uh, question.
        Bennett: I said appearing, John.
        Polly: No.

    • NOTES (3)

      • WELCOME HOME ARLENE!!! Arlene finally came home after having been absent for the previous two weeks while performing in "Old Acquaintance" in Arizona. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a lousy performance for the panel, as they were almost shut out. In the first game, the panel figured out that Mr. Paterni was a member of the Secret Service, but they failed to guess that he was the Chief of Counterfeiting Investigations. After the game, the panel asked him about a recent rash of phony $10 and $20 bills that had been popping up. In the second game, the panel was really stumped by the ping pong ball salesman. However, things turned for the better in the mystery guest round when Bennett, with some help from Arlene and Martin, correctly identified former "To Tell the Truth" panelist Polly Bergen. Polly was on the show to promote her upcoming appearance on "The Bell Telephone Hour." She also discussed her new book on charm. Polly's appearance really helped to make the panel's losses more palatable. - Sargebri

      • Polly Bergen promoted her February 2, 1962 appearance on "The Bell Telephone Hour." The episode was titled "Weavers of Song." She also promoted her new book which was published by Prentice-Hall and released on January 1, 1962 titled "The Polly Bergen Book of Beauty, Fashion and Charm." - Suzanne
