    • APRIL FOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLS!!! As John mentioned, this episode was broadcast on April Fool's Day. He stated that there would be a couple of tricks played on the panel, and sure enough, the first two games both revolved around the same "Twist" theme. As for the panel's performance, after a rough start they wound up having a fairly good night, especially the distaff members. In the first mystery guest round, the panel was utterly fooled by Chubby Checker. The closest they got was when they asked if he was involved in music. However, as John pointed out, no one asked him about dancing. Of course, Chubby's biggest claim to fame was "The Twist," both the song and the dance. The panel did have better luck in the second game as Arlene correctly figured out that the contestant was a pretzel twister. In the second mystery guest round, Dorothy correctly identified former WML guest panelist Joan Collins. Joan was on the show to promote "The Road to Hong Kong," in which she co-starred with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. In the final game, Arlene was given credit for correctly guessing that the contestant tested lipstick, making it a score of "three for three" for the female panelists. This was definitely a night of "girl power" on the panel. - Sargebri (2006)

As John mentioned, Joan Collins was on the show to promote the upcoming release of "Road to Hong Kong," which was scheduled to be released that July. This was the first "Road" film in eight years since 1954's "Road to Bali." It also was the last film in the series. Joan Collins essentially took over the role of Dorothy Lamour in the film as the girl that Bing and Bob fight over. This film also featured cameos from Dorothy Lamour (who only appeared in one brief ten minute scene), David Niven (another former WML guest panelist) and the ringleaders of the Rat Pack, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. However, Joan would go on to bigger heights in the 1980's when she would play the ultimate soap opera bitch in the campy prime time soap opera "Dynasty." Also, Joan wouldn't be the only member of her family to make a name for herself. Her little sister Jackie Collins would become an author by writing the trashy best sellers "Hollywood Wives," "Hollywood Husbands" and "Rock Star." - Sargebri (2006)

When Chubby Checker appeared on the show this evening, he was at the height of his popularity. His song "The Twist" became the first song to have two runs at the top of the Billboard charts when it charted in 1960 and again in 1962. He also would have hits with the songs "Let's Twist Again," "Pony Time," "The Fly," "The Hucklebuck" and other dance-themed songs. However, once the "Twist" craze ended, so did his run as a major music star. However, he has since become a huge star on the oldies cabaret circuit. For the record, Chubby was named by Dick Clark's wife, after she noticed his resemblance to Fats Domino. - Sargebri (2006)
