  • Notes

    • (1) Ironically, given co-mystery guest Sheila MacRae's future working association with Jackie Gleason, tonight's "WML?" episode aired one day after the premiere of The Great One's new variety series "Jackie Gleason and His American Scene Magazine," which ran on CBS from September 29, 1962 to June 4, 1966. Also, on October 1, 1962, the day after tonight's show, occasional "WML?" guest panelist Johnny Carson began a nearly 30-year run as host of "The Tonight Show."
      (2) BAD PUN ALERT!!! Once again, Arlene used the "Count of Monte Kisco" pun to describe Bennett in her introduction of him. Next, Bennett, in his introduction of John Daly, brought up the news of Mariner 2's recent encounter with a meteor. Bennett then mentioned that there was a meteor on the "WML?" program every Sunday night and said, "I'd like you to 'meteor' our panel moderator..." This pathetic pun brought huge groans from both the studio audience and his fellow panelists. - W-B (2006)
