    • REVIEW: Perhaps it was the heat and humidity, or maybe it was their looking forward to the upcoming Independence Day holiday, but the panel definitely had one of their worst nights in a long time, as for the first time in quite a while, they had an O'fer night. They didn't win one single game. The carnage began in the first game when they were stumped by the young graduate of the University of South Dakota who was working as a fireworks saleswoman. In the second game, the panel also got a sound thrashing from the rather elderly race track clocker. The coup de grâce came in the mystery guest round as they were utterly stumped by Van Johnson. Van was on the show to promote the play he would be doing in summer stock theatre. He also promoted his latest film that would be coming out in a few months, "Wives and Lovers." During the good nights, Bennett made a comment about Van's red socks. However, the only things that were even redder than Van's socks were the panel's faces -- from the embarrassment they suffered on this night. - Sargebri
