    • REVIEW: Despite Tony's worst fears about breaking his own record for the most consecutive "no" answers, he turned out to be the star of the night. In fact, the panel essentially had a perfecto this evening. In the first game, Tony was given credit for guessing that the young lady taught parenting classes. However, it was in the second game that Tony pulled one out of thin air. In that game, it looked as if the panel was going to go down in defeat, when out of the blue Tony correctly guessed that the contestant made glue. The only time Tony didn't have a hand in a win was in the mystery guest round. In that game, Dorothy correctly identified Robert Goulet. Bob didn't have an engagement in town, but he did promote his upcoming appearance at the Muhammad Ali/Sony Liston heavyweight championship fight. Bob also promoted his wife Carol Lawrence's engagement at the Americana Hotel. This was definitely a fun night. - Sargebri (2007)

THE ALI/LISTON FIGHT: As was mentioned in the post game chat following the mystery guest round, Robert Goulet was going to sing the national anthem at the upcoming Muhammad Ali/Sonny Liston fight. Bob was very apprehensive about singing the anthem because he said that a lot of singers never make it through the song without some kind of error. Bob's fears were well-warranted, because he did sing one word of the lyrics incorrectly -- in one of the most famous bloopers in musical history. However, that wasn't the only bizarre thing that happened that night. The second Ali/Liston fight turned out to be one of the most controversial fights in the history of boxing. Originally, the fight was scheduled to take place a few months earlier. However, Ali was forced to undergo surgery to repair a hernia. When the fight did take place, it ended on a highly controversial note. In the first round, Ali hit Liston with a punch and Liston went down. When Liston fell, Ali took several seconds to go to the neutral corner. When Ali finally went to the neutral corner, referee (and former heavyweight champion) Jersey Joe Walcott began his count and Liston was able to get up before Walcott got to ten. The fight then resumed, but as the two fighters started to box, Walcott was called over to the side of the ring, and a few seconds later, the fight ended with Ali being declared the winner. The reason given was that even though Liston had beaten the referee's count, he was still counted out by the official time keeper. After that, many people had said the fight was fixed, especially after several people who viewed the fight questioned the power of Ali's punch. The result also caused irreparable damage to Liston's career and he would never again fight for the world title. - Sargebri (2007)

MATCHMAKER: During the post mystery guest round chat, Robert Goulet mentioned his and Carol Lawrence's six month old son. Interestingly, when Tony Randall had earlier appeared on an episode of "Password," he joked that he was responsible for Carol being pregnant. The reason he gave was that he had been responsible for bringing Bob and Carol together. - Sargebri (2007)
