      • MYSTERY GUEST: This long-lost episode featured the only "WML?" appearance of George "Gabby" Hayes, long-time sidekick to the likes of Roy Rogers and William "Hopalong Cassidy" Boyd. His last movie was 1950's "The Cariboo Trail," in which he played "Oscar 'Grizzly' Winters." At the time of tonight's show, Mr. Hayes was the host of his own children's television series called "The Gabby Hayes Show," which ran on NBC (or "another network" in "WML?" parlance) from 1950 to 1954 and on ABC in 1956. The NBC program was notable in that one of the backstage crew members was a young Fred Rogers, who worked as a floor manager. Mr. Rogers would go on to greater fame from 1967-1968 onwards as the host of the long-running children's show "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood." In addition, early in the run of "The Gabby Hayes Show," actor Eli Wallach appeared in a few episodes. Mr. Wallach went on to appear on "WML?" as part of a mystery guest trio on EPISODE #755 of March 14, 1965, joined by his wife Anne Jackson and actor Alan Arkin. The trio promoted their appearance in the Broadway production of Murray Schisgal's comedy play, "Luv." - W-B (2008)

      • IT DIDN'T HAPPEN HERE - From the "VIDEO VIGNETTES" column of TV DIGEST (Philadelphia) 24 November 1951: "The producers of the "What's My Line?" show are considering exchanging panels with Britain's version of the same show, for one telecast. The British cast would be brought here for one appearance while the American panel tried their luck overseas." (The vintage article is unsigned.) Needless to say, this never came off, though it might have been a lot of fun. - stopette (2004)

      • Per Gil Fates' handwritten logs, no kinescope of this episode exists. It was destroyed by CBS before Gil Fates noticed the destruction policy in 1952 and began saving the kinescopes. Only about 10 episodes exist from February 1950 to July 1952. - Suzanne (2004)

Panel: Dorothy Kilgallen, Bennett Cerf, Arlene Francis, Hal Block.
