What's My Line?

Season 17 Episode 29

Aired Daily 12:00 AM Mar 20, 1966 on CBS

  • Notes

    • (1) "WML?" SPONSOR WATCH: The opening sponsor tonight is Diet Delight, which was advertised as "The low-calorie canned fruit."
      (2) "LIVE" WATCH: This is the 14th surviving post-Kilgallen edition to retain the "live" wording on the opening.
      (3) "WML?" PANEL WATCH: Yet again, Tony Randall is introduced first. In addition, Dr. Joyce Brothers' name plane on the panel desk reads "Dr. Brothers," indicating her profession.
      (4) ANOTHER PORTENT OF THE FUTURE: While Dr. Joyce Brothers is appearing for the first time tonight on "WML?" - and as it develops, the only time during its remaining year-and-a-half on CBS - she will be an occasional panelist within the show's final two years in syndication (1973-1975). Additionally, the good doctor was one of the mystery guests during the very first week in syndication in 1968, as well as two other times in its seven-year run.
      (5) "WML?" CREW CREDITS WATCH: In all likelihood due to an editing glitch, the end credits only go so far as to mentioning executive producer Gil Fates, director Franklin Heller and associate producers Bob Bach and Ann Krieger before cutting abruptly to the "WML?" title card.
      (6) Following the November 19, 2007 airing of tonight's show, GSN ran an episode of the syndicated color version of "WML?" from the second day of Week #80, which was taped on April 9, 1970. The host was Wally Bruner, the announcer was Johnny Olson, and the panel that week consisted of Soupy Sales, Gail Sheldon, Jack Cassidy and Arlene Francis. The mystery guest on this edition was legendary mime Marcel Marceau, who died on September 22, 2007 at age 84. - W-B (2007)
