  • Notes

    • This was a decent night for the panel, especially the feminine members. Arlene guessed the first mystery guest, Leontyne Price, with a huge assist from Woody, and Phyllis was able to guess the second mystery guest, Sir Peter Ustinov. Ironically, she got the only "no" answer from Sir Peter when she asked if he were on a weekly series. She redeemed herself when she asked if he had "a cute face with a cute beard" and he answered "yes." The only bump in the road they had this particular night was when the 90 years young caddy hit the stage. During the introductions, we learned that Phyllis was making a guest star appearance on the 1965-1969 television series "The Wild, Wild, West." The episode she appeared in was titled "Night of the Raven," in which she played "Princess Wanakee," a Native American princess kidnapped by "Doctor Loveless." Also mentioned in the introductions was Woody Allen's Broadway play, "Don't Drink the Water." The comedy featured Lou Jacobi, Kay Medford and former WML guest panelist Anita Gillette as a family of American tourists accused of spying behind the 1960s cold-war Iron Curtain. It ran for 17 months from 1966 to 1968. A year after the play left Broadway, it was made into a motion picture starring Jackie Gleason, Estelle Parsons and Joan Delaney in the roles of the American tourists. Woody Allen was not happy with this film, and remade it for television in 1994 with himself and Julie Kavner in the lead roles. - Sargebri (2004)
