Bennett did not wear his ball mask on WML, which John described as "a big one." Truman Capote held a "Black and White Ball" in the Grand Ballroom of Manhattan's Plaza Hotel on November 18, 1966. The party was dubbed the "social event of the year" and the "party of the century." Truman invited 540 guests who were required to dress in black and white evening clothes and masks. In addition, the women were required to carry fans. - Suzanne (2004)
