What's My Line?

Season 18 Episode 24

Aired Daily 12:00 AM Feb 12, 1967 on CBS

  • Notes

    • This was a rough night for the panel, as they were stumped by both guests. To their credit, they did get close to guessing their occupations, as shown when Steve asked if the shoeshine girl had anything to do with ladies' barbering. Also, during the second round, they managed to narrow the guest's line down to a form of transportation, before John threw the rest of the cards over. After that, John said, "fire engines." Bennett then guessed "fire engines," which got a laugh when John said, "That's right Bennett, did you say fire engines?" Bennett replied, "YOU said fire engines!" The evening wasn't a total loss, as Arlene identified mystery guest Yves Montand, who was in town to film a new motion picture. Also, two days after this episode aired, the announcement would be made that WML would be going off the air. Also of note is the fact that not only did WML get the ax, but practically every other primetime Goodson-Todman game show ("To Tell the Truth," "I've Got a Secret" and "Password") would all be cancelled and gone after this season. Only the daytime version of "To Tell the Truth" would last another year on the CBS network. Given the circumstances, this would definitely be an interesting week ahead. - Sargebri (2004)
