April's Fools: 'Choose Up Sides' Is Back... starting Saturday night/Sunday morning after the last 'Beat the Clock' from the B&W era in GSN's vault airs at 3AM. It's the day the country switches to Daylights Saving time though, so its unclear how this will affect B&W Overnight for the night. Whether it will be just a one-shot deal or will last the short run of the series remains to be seen. Stay tuned for details as they become available and, in case you missed it a few months back, get ready to watch this odd technologically-minded misfire of Goodson-Todman again!

I would guess this will be a short run since GSN plans to start airing IGAS the first week of April.

It really can't run long anyway, there's only about 5 episodes extant, if I recall right.

"Choose Up Sides", on NBC at least, only lasted 13 weeks as a sustaining series on early Saturday afternoons between January and April 1956. Most of those are in the GSN archives.

I am thrilled to be posting and also excited to see that this Gene Rayburn Show will be airing as I know one of the children who was a contestant on one of the existing shows.

Stan, GSN has aired six episodes of 'Choose Up Sides' over the past few years. This weekend run of the show will only last two episodes (Saturday/Sunday overnights) so, if the kid you're looking for isn't featured in these two episodes, let me know in this forum. I taped all six episodes the last time GSN aired them last year, so maybe I can find the show with the kid you're looking for if this show isn't one of the two that will air April 1st & 2nd.

It's been so long that I can't even remember it -- but I'm sure it will all come back!

I have no clue what year this episode of Choose Up Sides is from. I wasn't aware anybody other than Gene Rayburn hosted it.

This would have been from within the 1953-1954 season, when it was on CBS. Apparently, Mr. Rayburn assumed the reins after the show moved to NBC. Also, the jacket lapels of Bob Kennedy's would've been a clue that this was very early in its run.

Another clue to the original airdate would be the advertisement for the "Columbia Model 202 Portable Record Player" that one kid won as his prize. These phonographs have popped up on a few ebay pages and the like.
