Daphne's uncle sends the gang to Costa Rica for the opening of a museum exhibit on dinosaurs. When our heroes meet archeologist Melbourne O'Reilly, he reveals the legend of a dinosaur-spirit who's supposed to get revenge on anyone who disturbs these bones. So when the gang sits down to enjoy a new 3-D dino-film in the museum's theatre, it's not that surprising when the dinosaur jumps off the screen -- and into the audience. It's up to the gang to figure out who's really "behind this devastating dinosaur disaster."moreless

The unmasking sequence made no sense. Velma accuses the intern Heather Lane of being the culprit, as Heather was an art major and could have designed a dinosaur costume. This wasn't exactly strong evidence that would hold up in court! And even more bizarre was how Heather tried to run away after Velma exposed her for being an art major! Did Heather really think the police officers were about to yell, "SHE'S AN ART MAJOR??? THAT'S ALL THE PROOF WE NEED!!! ARREST HER!!!"

When the Scooby gang finds a piece of gold, Melbourne O'Reilly examines it and says the gold is fake. Yet later, it turns out the gold was real. Shouldn't an expert like Melbourne have been able to tell the difference between fool's gold vs. real gold?

Villain #1: Luis Cepeda - Luis tried to used the legend of the dinosaur spirit to scare Melbourne O'Reilly away from discovering the gold. When O'Reilly wasn't scared off, Luis enlisted the help of...
Villain #2: Heather Lane, the college intern who worked at the museum. Because of her internship, Heather had easy access to the excavator machine. Using her skills as an art major, Heather designed the dinosaur costume to fit over the excavator machine. Heather's makeshift dinosaur had two purposes, she used it to dig up the gold while scaring everyone way, and the costume concealed her identity while she dug up the gold! Since Luis was around when the dinosaur appeared and Heather wasn't, it's safe to assume Heather was the one inside the costume.
Edit
This was actually the 3rd episode, but Kids' WB! didn't air it the way it was planned.

Luis Cepeda: (as he and Heather are being taken away by the cops): We would've gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling turistas.
Shaggy: Good thing this place doesn't have a "meddle detector", eh Scoob? (Shaggy laughs)
Scooby: Yeah! (Scooby laughs)
