Carmen: Okay, boys. Boogie those bridges to Chan Chan. A dead city on in a country just south of the equator.
Double Trouble: The dead city of Chan Chan? Sounds like a double drag, Carmen.
Carmen: For nearly 700 years, Chan Chan was the capital of the Chimú civilization. Up to 30,000 people lived there. It was South America's largest city before the time of Columbus.
Double Trouble: Sounds like a rockin' town, Carmen, so how'd it get dead?
Carmen: It was conquered by the Incas in the 1400s, then later abandoned. The Incas looted lots of Chimú treasure. Even stealing gold from the tombs of kings.
Double Trouble: Gee, Carmen, crave robbin'? Some crooks just don't know where to draw the line.
Double Trouble: We were partners in crime. We should be cellmates in jail, but the warden wants to split up this dream team. Carmen's layin' low in North America. Tell 'er she's gotta help!
