  • Local Boston-area heroes Teddy and the Pandas appeared on Action!!

Teddy and the Pandas were a popular Boston area group when they appeared on Where the Action is. They lip-synched their regionally popular hit, "Once Upon a Time" in front of the Boston waterfront restaurant, Anthony's Pier Four. The Pandas drummer, Jerry Labrecque, pretended to tap out the song's rhythm by beating on a huge faux beanpot, while the band was surrounded by delerious fans. Unlike many Action guests, the Pandas 'played' only one song versus two. While at the Anthony's Pier Four venue, the Action crew also filmed a segment with Gene Pitney, which was play on another episode that season. Teddy and the Pandas were touring with Musicor label-mate Gene Pitney show at the time.
