Show Summary

Contestants play to win one million dollars. Contestants register each week via phone then are randomly selected to appear as part of ten people that play fastest finger first. The next contestant is chosen via fastest finger first. It is the person who answers the question correctly the quickest correctly. Then the contestant is in the hot seat and ready to play for one million dollars. Each contestant has three lifelines; Phone a Friend, 50:50 and ask the audience. There are 15 questions on the way to one million dollars. Theres two safe levels which are $1000 and $32000. No one has won the million dollars yet in Australia even though over a dozen people have got to the million dollar question and many of them were right.

In the first 5 years of its life on Tv this was an excellent show with excellent ratings. Unfortuantely over the past 3 years the ratings have gone down fast and its coming to an end. Over the last 3 years shows which i follow have moved to the same time as Who Wants To Be A Millionair so i have been making excuses to my self to watch them instead.

It's a real shame because back in it's day i love it but now there are better things on that watching people win money! I think the producers are talking about cutting it!moreless
  • Time to put this one out to pasture

Host Eddie is in the "like him or loathe him" category. I'm in the former territory, he's bright and happy, but the show has gone on too long. We have our first (two) millionaires now, so this season we don't even have the attraction of tuning in to see the first big winner. Eddie is supposed to be leaving the show so it will be interesting to see what the new host will do but really they are hamstrung by having to bow to the British originators. If they could speed things up by putting a time limit on the questions then that might be an improvement but that's unlikely to happen.moreless
