Whose Line Is It Anyway? (UK)

Season 8 Episode 4

Steve Frost, Caroline Quentin, Colin Mochrie, Ryan Stiles

Aired Unknown Jul 26, 1996 on Channel 4

  • Trivia

    • Another editing difference: During Sound Effects, Ryan said, 'Oh, s**t.' Comedy Central edited it out, but BBC America restored it.

  • Quotes

    • (in Hats)
Ryan: (in pirate's hat) Aye, matey! Why not try walking my plank?
Colin: (in chef's hat) And that's just the shape of my hat!
Caroline: (in feathered hat) What I'd really like to do is go to Royal Ascot.
Steve: (in pilot's goggles) You wanna play with my joystick?
Ryan: (in soldier's helmet) Once I get in, I'll never leave your foxhole.

    • Ryan: (in Animals) She's mine! Those are my nuts in her mouth!

    • (in Scene To Music)
Steve: Would you like some dripping to go with that?
Caroline: Don't worry, I'm doing me own!
      (Clive buzzes, Steve walks off)
Caroline: That will never go out, will it?
Clive: I think we explored new depth there with your dripping, Caroline!

    • Clive: I don't think anyone's going to beat Colin tonight, unless they pay for it.

    • Clive: Once again we promise another half an hour of tip-top entertainment. And who knows, this time we might even deliver.

  • Notes

    • Before Sound Effects, Clive says that Colin is to be a scuba diving instructor, but 'diving' comes out 'driving'. In the game, Colin makes like he is driving underwater.

    • Comedy Central edited out Secret and put Number of Words and Hats after Animals. BBC America put Secret back in and took out Hats, otherwise the original order is intact.

    • There are no singing games, but Richard Vranch appears in Clive's good night at the end of the episode.

    • The first game is officially called Here He Is Now, but Clive says it should be called Here She Is Now, because of Caroline's involvement. EDITOR'S NOTE: Because of this, I have listed the game as such in the summary.

    • Watch Caroline predict that the Scene To Music won't go out over the air. Obviously she was wrong! BBC America did not air the response at the end, just showing Steve walking off.
