    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Gaelen had a hard time in Dubbing. At one point, when Wayne said 'Look at me,' she turned and looked at Wayne, thinking he was telling her to look at him. Then at the end, she looked like she didn't want to kiss Colin, which Drew pointed out at the end of the game. Ryan helped her out by kissing Colin on the top of his head.

      • During Let's Make A Date, Colin says, "I'm gonna have to castrate that bull!". As a farmer myself, that sounds pretty stupid. More calves means more money, and when you have as many calves as Colin's cows are having, castrating the bull would be the dumbest thing you could do!

      • During the credit reading (Drew Carey-The Musical), Ryan says to the others: "Let's all choke!" This is a reference to Drew choking on an Altoid mint in Show No. 515, which is from the same taping.

    • QUOTES (6)

      • Drew: The points are fake, but they look and feel real!

      • (SFAH, people running as fast as they can)
Colin: Maria, before I die, give me a big wet kiss!
Wayne: I''ve got tickets for Pauly Shore's one-man show.
        Ryan: (looking horrified) Hoedown?

      • Chip: (after Ryan gets him for yodeling in the Tex-Mex song) I travel a lot!

      • (after LMAD)
Drew: Who was Ryan, before we say good night to Ryan?
Chip: I have no idea. No--
Drew: I don't either, that's correct. I don't know who the hell he is. (buzzes)

      • Ryan: (singing in LMAD)
My eyes are covered with glass...
And look at the size of my ass!

      • (SFAH, bad segues to news stories)
Chip: ...And everyone died. Speaking of dying, I've been dying to see that new Bruce Willis flick...
Wayne: It was a big, big loss. Speaking of big, right after this, The Drew Carey Show! (audience boos)
Drew: You are all gonna pay.

    • NOTES (2)

      • During ABC Family's reruns of this episode, and possibly during its original ABC runs as well, a bit of sound effects appears to have been added during Let's Make A Date. Maybe, someone, somewhere thought the viewers might not be able to understand why Colin was reaching behind Wayne during his 2nd cycle of speech. So, sound effects of crying were added. However, these were animal births and not human, so baby cries make no sense. It appears that Wayne had made such a sound a little bit before hand and they looped in some more. a.) Wayne's mouth and throat make no movements at first and b.) when a sound that does somewhat match his mouth is made, it sounds like a different voice from the first bit of crying sounds. ABC Family has been known to redub dialog. In interesting serendipity, IF this edit did occur as it sounds, ABC Family made a similar redub for their Party Politics episode of Who's The Boss, which featured... Ryan Stiles.

      • For Let's Make A Date, Ryan's description is "Performing Drew Carey - The Musical." Drew, expecting upcoming jokes at his expense, takes advantage of the situation to make his own joke by telling Ryan, "I'd like to remind Ryan before getting started where his paycheck comes from." Ryan should remind Drew that both he and Drew are executive producers on this show. So, it would work both ways, actually. Drew might have still leveraged Ryan's paycheck for "The Drew Carey Show." (Of course, he's only kidding.)
