  • The Newsflash was one of the funniest I have seen. I think that Songs of Norway was a great topic for Greatest Hits, since the performers seemed to know nothing about the country. "Nothing says Norwegian more than some Honky Tonk." That was great.moreless

I loved when Drew said to Jeff "You were wrong my friend!" when he couldn't guess Ryan's suggestion during LMAD. Poor Colin, that Newsflash was so funny and painful that Jeff and Ryan couldn't even get clues out. I have to disagree with other people's observation during Greatest Hits' "Warm Warm Sauna, Cold Cold Water." I don't think that Jeff and Wayne forgot the words at all. If you watch it carefully, they are both singing the right words; they just can't get together and sing the same words at the same time. It seems to me as if they just take a pause for a minute so they can get together.moreless
  • One of my favorite episodes ever.

Let's Make a Date was unforgettable with Ryan's "trilogy" of a suggestion. "I'm just leaving a little time so everyone can read the novel that is my suggestion." Newsflash was refreshingly funny with its skateboard bloopers. I'm one person who's glad to see a Newsflash that isn't gross. "Professions where breaking into song is discouraged" was great with Colin's "I'm a MIME!" And I can never forget Songs of Norway. Ryan reminded Drew that "we've all played the game before" when Drew took a little extra time to describe the game for viewers. With songs such as "Warm Warm Sauna, Cold Cold Water" where Wayne and Jeff forget the words, I cracked up laughing. "And the subjects, Oh, they flow like water through the Norwegian...area where the water flows."

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • During Greatest Hits, Wayne and Jeff forget what they were supposed to be signing about near the end of the first song. After a protracted pause, they just give up on it and start winging their way through the rest of the song.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (SFAH, things that make the audience boo)
Ryan: What color is your poo in the morning?
Jeff: Okay, so we have our potatoes simmering. Now, after we fillet the baby seal...
Ryan: You simply wait for traffic, then you...push the old lady. Push the old lady. (some applause) Not looking for applause on that one!
Jeff: And the Oscar for Best Actor goes to...Keanu Reeves.

    • Ryan:(in Greatest Hits) Nothing like a girl in a metal bra.

    • Colin: (Greatest Hits, after the first song) That song was written on three minutes.

    • Ryan: (in LMAD) I'm just giving the audience time to read the novel that is my suggestion.

    • Audience member: (shouting a suggestion for Hoedown) Killed the dog!

    • Colin: (SFAH, bad conversation topics) What color is your poo first thing in the morning?

    • (in Greatest Hits, after getting Norway as the suggestion)
      Colin: We're screwed!
Drew: Yeah? You think if you're screwed, how'd you like to be Wayne and Jeff?

  • NOTES (4)

    • The lady Wayne pulls onstage to act as his character's best friend is possibly one of the best performances by a random audience member! She plays along well, and even comes back during the credit reading to do it again.

    • During the things that would make the audience boo for Scenes From A Hat, when Ryan and Colin step out, and they haven't even done anything yet, a few audience members boo them!

    • During Newsflash, one of the big laughs is generated by the actual footage itself rather than any of the contestants' interaction with it. Ryan, Jeff, Drew, and the audience all had a good laugh over the poor guy who almost skateboarded perpendicularly into the path of an oncoming truck!

    • It seems that Greatest Hits was performed before Newsflash during the recording and played in the opposite order for broadcast. Colin's comment about Norway during Newsflash would make more sense that way, since Greatest Hits is Songs Of Norway.
