Whose Line Is It Anyway? Season 8 Episode 2

It is interesting to note that in Scenes From A Hat, Ryan says for one of the suggestions: "Guess what? I'm not doing a Hoedown tonight!" Sure enough, Ryan, though in the Hoedown game, did not actually sing in it. This may be a clue as to why Ryan has no particpation in that game. If he did actually sing something, it may have been edited out to make an inside joke referencing the Scene From A Hat.

A very unusual Hoedown in this episode! First, Drew, who had ragged on Chip earlier for his professor blunder during Title Sequence, forgets the song is supposed to be about professors. He sings about a wrestler instead! (Although, his reactions are not indicative of if he really did it by accident or on purpose. He acts somewhat as if he really did mess up, but, somewhat as if he planned it; it's kind of hard to tell. ) Then, Colin decides to do a verse about dentists, which was an original suggestion for the game before someone in the audience suggested professor. Lastly, the game ends on an unexpected note: though Ryan is in the game, he does NOT sing a verse! This Hoedown game featured only 3 verses! It's also the only hoedown Chip sat out of, probably because of the occurances earlier.

In this case, the points did matter. Chip was declared the winner for this episode, probably because of the 1 times 10 to the 30th power points he was awarded for Title Sequence.

At the start of Greatest Hits, Colin and Ryan say that burning has nothing to do with CD's, music, and firefighters. Of course, anyone with a modern computer equates burning with music and CD's in the form of CD-R's.

This episode will probably contain the highest real number point value ever awarded to a contestant. For his "professor" blunder in Title Sequence, Chip is awarded "1,000 to the 10th power points" by Drew. This translates into 1 times 10 to the 30th power, a number known as a nonillion in American short scale. (If this were the British version, using their long scale, this value is quintillion.)
