Wibbly Pig

Show Summary

Wibbly Pig is a children's series originally written as board books authored and illustrated by Mick Inkpen. The series features episodes that help children to learn how to make activities into a game. Encouraging the creative minds of children, Wibbly also strongly resembles the pig character from the Kipper the Dog stories written by the same author. Wibbly is often shown with his toys Pigley, Flop, and Dimple, encouraging creative play and a strong use of imagination in the young viewer base. The series, like many children's shows, also has a life-sized costume based character that appears at library children's reading hours as well as other children's events. The series itself has gained a bit of controversial publicity from groups who disapprove of the somewhat slim appearance of Wibbly. These health concerned groups claim this view may engender a false view of obesity in children, possibly leading to health problems such as anorexia and bulimia. Overall the series is a great opportunity for children to find new and creative ways to make daily activities into a world filled with fun and learning.moreless
