Wife Swap (UK)

Show Summary

Wife Swap took a look at how couples ran their lives. The Show lifted the lid on the choices different couples made: how they each share the house work, children, work and shopping and spending. Also what they wanted from their friends, family and social lives. It was a rare insight into what it was like to live someone else's life and experiences. Wife Swap had the two 'wives' of each family trade places for ten days to see what it was like to live in another family's home. They had to do everything in their new home, including going out and taking on the other's job, but instead of returning to their own home, they returned to their new family's home. What was it like to live with a different partner?, How would the partner accept the new woman? How would the children accept her? How did they cope being a mother to a stranger's children? For the first five days of the swap, they fit into their new family's lifestyle, and take on their daily routine - which may be completely different from their own! Then for the the final five days, they had the opportunity to bring their own 'rules' and ways of life into the running of the new household. After the ten days are completed, both of the families met up and talked about their experiences and what they had learnt about themselves and their partners following the swap. They discussed how the ten days has affected their own relationship. On November 12th 2009, Channel 4 revealed that the show has been axed as part of a programme shakeup.moreless

    • Wife Swap spin off?
Apparently there's a supposedly edgier (if that's possible?) spin off to Wife Swap coming in July sometime, there's a short clip...
