Wild at Heart (UK)

Show Summary

This is a British show about Danny Trevanion (Stephen Tompkinson), a Bristol-based veterinarian and his family as they relocate to South Africa to set up a game park. Danny's wife Sarah (Amanda Holden) and her two children Evan (Luke Ward-Wilkinson) and Olivia (Rafaella Hutchinson) joined Danny's child Rosie (Lucy Jo-Hudson) who met Anders Du Plessis (Deon Stewardson) who was already at the park before the Tevanion's bought it. Since the start of series four both Sarah (who died at the end of the third series) and Olivia no longer appear. Previous stars also include Hayley Mills (Caroline) and Jessie Wallace (Amy Kriel). Whilst Dawn Steele (Alice Collins), Juliet Mills (Georgina) and Megan Martell (Charlotte Collins) joined the cast at the start of series 4. The show has aired a series every year since 2006 in the timeslot which is normally occupied with a family orientated show such as Heartbeat, orThe Royal. Since series 4, the show moved from 8.00pm to 8.30pm. The series inspired American channel The CW, so much so that they tried out their own version of the series entitled Life Is Wild, the formula however didn't prove as popular with an American audience and the show was cancelled.

  • wild at heart is about a family that whent to africa and became vets.

    9.0
the first few seasons where great but know it is not about animals the best episode of the new season is the one with the wild dogs becuase it wasn't all doom and gloomy and not about animals like the previos episodes of this season. the reason they whent to africa in season one was becuase they couldn't affortd to stay in england (i think..) it started to get confusing since so many of the family where going back to england then to africa then to england agian. i hope this season will get better it says that duplessis will go to england so this episode will probably not be about animals agian (the original idea for wild at heart was to be about vets in africa saving animals with season 4 it seems that idea whent out the window)but it sounds funny i would like to see duplisse in the city but i don't know how the rest will cope in africa since duplessise was the game keeper and did most of the work exept for the maid who does the cleaning. i thought the black guy who was at the rival hotel/vet place was the owner of it but he's gone to the trovolta's place so who is the owner? is it the women who has suddenly appered?. every season wild at heart seems to go further apart from the real world how did a dolmation appear in africa? and why was a squirrel in africa aswell?. my review of wild at heart is that it is quite good but the first 3 seasons were way way waaayyy better than this fourth season come on the writers of wild at heart put some thought into these stories!!.moreless

The best programme on tv at the moment don't want it to end. First series absolutley fab can't wait for next week and see Evan stay at leopards den. hope Caroline comes back into the series to sort her sister out. it shows what it would be like to live in the out back, acting is excellent, but a shame that Amanda Holden left but we have the excellent Steven Tomlinson and Lucy Jo Hudson still left. This programme can not be stopped it has to go on for years. Cant't wait for series 5 6 7 8 9 10moreless
  • One of my all time favourite TV shows.

    10
This TV show has got to be one of favourite TV shows ever. Aside from Waterloo Road, it is one of the best UK shows that has been made in a long time. The actors are fabulous and the animals and surrounding Africa are amazing to see. The show gets better each and eveyr season, it's just such a shame Sarah (Amanda Holden) quit at the end of the most recent series, series three, as she is also one of my favourite actresses. It's truly amazing how much effort and time the crew, beehind the scenes, put in to make the show as fabulous as it is. The animal handlers are amazing at making sure the animals are in position and doing what they're supposed to be doing, most importantly, they treat them like humans, very humanely.moreless
