  • “Uurrgh I hate all slippery slimy things” says Zoë … “Mind out of the gutter Daniel!” And so starts a very amusing episode that creates tension on many levels!

    10
Whilst the basis of this episode is somewhat whimsical with the death of a singer on a singles cruise boat, the writing is witty and consistently funny.

The scene set with trio (including Sophia) think that murder may be afoot:

    “Murder by snake?” scoffs Dan”

“Well, it is the perfect weapon,” says Zoë … “Who is going to dust for fingerprints!”

Whilst the story unfolds with the sexual tension gradually increasing between Zoë and Dan as they both flirt their way through interviewing suspects thereby annoying each other!

Bring on Naked Nigel the Australian lookalike for Steve Urwin with his own collection of snakes. Who is Nigel? Well according to Zoë he is: “My hero, my hotty, my heart-throb … Nigel Hampton!” But ... “Naked Nigel has nothing of Naked Dan!” says Dan!!! And so it goes on with innuendo and slapstick humour and even poor Dan getting bitten by the dreaded Australian Brown Snake, which luckily for him, Naked Nigel has the anti-venom for. The result is that for once Zoë - along with Taylor who has Ryder and Julian fighting over her - has to face up to the fact that she is torn between two men, Marcos and Dan!

    But who will win?

Maybe the clue is in the wonderful song Zoë sings at the end of the episode (When I Look in Your Eyes by Leslie Bricusse - watch out Diana Krall!):

Looking straight at Dan, she sings:

"I see the deepness of the love The love I feel you feel for me"

Marcos is totally enraptured however when looks at Dan’s expression he sees Dan smiling but also looking totally captivated by Zoë.

    Looking at Marcos, Zoë sings:

"Autumn comes, summer dies I see the passing of the years in your eyes And when we part there will be no tears no goodbyes I'll just look into your eyes" How will this end?

    Well as Zoë tells Taylor:

"I think that the best thing for us to … for you to … err … do is to play it out and to not feel guilty about it and to truly believe that one day that everything will be clear …”

“The choice will be clear …” says Taylor.

“It will … I think!” says Zoë, not convinced!

Whatever happens it is bound to be good ... because it is Wild Card!moreless
