Wild Indonesia

Show Summary

Wild Indonesia is a documentary series originally airing on PBS that highlights the sights of Indonesia. Split into three segments, Wild Indonesia showcases many of the scenes and wildlife rarely filmed on the 17,000 islands that make up the archipelago. Two-and-a-half hours of programming let viewers experience the natural wonder of Indonesia, while giving viewers a sense of the history and culture of the Indonesian people. Narrated by William Hootkins, the crew of Wild Indonesia was able to capture breathtaking footage that has been difficult to capture due to a variety of reasons, including the country's treacherous landscape and unstable government. "Where Worlds Collide," the first segment, surveys the different islands that make of Indonesia, including the animals and plants that make each island unique and one of a kind. The second segment, "The Mystery of Sulawesi," highlights Sulawesi, home to some of the most unique animals in the world. Finally, in "Creatures of Island Kingdoms," viewers get to see how such a magnificent set of islands develops from lava underground into sprawling mountain ranges that are habitable for different types of animals.moreless
