Wilderness Edge

Show Summary

Wilderness Edge is a children's program about a group of children in the UK who attend a retreat program for outdoor activities. Released in 1992, the show opens with the drive up, setting the stage for the conflict between the adult facilitators trying to keep their center open and the children attending, several of whom having a delinquent background. Over each of the six episodes, the children deal with the attendants, the nature, the removal from urban civilization, and each other. Like many summer camps, tempers flare as the children are brought out of their element and forced to share space and activities with each other. The adults do their best to supervise and keep the children from finding harm at the hands of the wilderness or each other while dealing with a pending inspection. Showcasing the drama that pre-teens and teenagers face growing up and struggling to find their place in the world, getting to know each other and themselves.
