      • Varges: Why do you want to own a gun?
        Mr. Vicks: To shoot Indians!
Varges: They shoot back, you know.

      • Mr. Vicks: What gun do you use?
Varges: I never use a gun. I don't trust them. I respect guns, but I don't trust them.

      • Brodie: You see, guts is a word that people use when they don't really know what they're feeling.

      • Varges: This is your place?
Alice Freeze: Sure is. Always wanted to be an undertaker, since I could remember. Went to school to learn, saved my pennies, and here I am!

      • Alice Freeze: Dying's s not so bad. It's better then a sharp stick in the eye. Don't worry: I'll take care of you real fine.
Brodie: Let's hope you don't have to, ma'am.
Alice Freeze: (to Varges) Oh, right. You can come back any time. Even if you're alive.

      • (after a massive gunfight)
        Julietta: Who are you people?
Brodie: Why, we're the Chamber of Commerce of Wildside.

    • NOTES (4)

      • This is the very last series to the Disney Limited series collection that they aired throughout the 80s.

      • The show's theme is used throughout the episode, first repeating on a gramophone with the needle stuck. Later, during the shootout the gramophone starts working, and you can hear the show's theme in a Western waltz-style motif.

      • Later, and apparently coincidentally, the premiere episode of The Magnificent Seven used a similar plot of a renegade, somewhat insane Confederacy general searching a small town for hidden gold.

      • The episode's denouement and general plot bears a strong resemblance to the Wild Wild West episode, "The Night of the Underground Terror." In that episode, Confederate soldiers are also looking for hidden gold that is eventually discovered in a water tower, and is released to kill the main villain.
