You see in this episode how much Will does really care about Jack despite his ongoing comments to him. When Will kisses Jack at the end of the series, it is done because he feels that his friend was so upset about the gay kiss being kept off of television, that he decided to make things right for Jack by kissing him on the street where The Today Show was taping.
