    • TRIVIA (4)

    • QUOTES (18)

      • Will: I need to speak to both of you about Rosario.
Jack: Hey hey, that's Mrs. Jack McFarland to you.
Will: I thought you were Mrs. Jack McFarland?

      • Karen (Referring to Bob and Ellen): Oh Lord, where did you find these people?

      • (picking out clothes)
Will: Does this go with this?
Jack: Does "no" go with "way"?

      • Jack: The lovelies were buzzing around me like...like what?
Will: Like moths to a flamer?
Jack: Actually more like a fat to a "Will is fat."

      • Will: So, I gave my phone number to that guy at Porter's Books.
Grace: Phone number or business card?
        Will: Business card.
        Grace: Not hot.
        Will: Why? What?
Grace: "Hi! I'm intimidated by the possibility of rejection, but my secretary isn't. Call her!"

      • Jack: My very own sexless marriage! Just like Will and Grace!

      • Karen: (about Will and Grace) Lord, they are like siamese twins who are joined at their boring personalities.

      • Jack: I hate here, Karen. I wanna be in a good part of the house with you.
Karen: Well, that's sweet Jack but this is where the help stays.
        Jack: But, I'm not help.
Karen: Honey, you married help. You're help.

      • Will: Grace, do not deflect. You can't do anything without me. You can't have a bath, you can't eat pudding... god knows you can't even cook a meal without me.
Grace: AH HA...!!! That was me laughing without you.

      • Rob: Who cooked?
        Grace: I did.
Ellen (grabbing Rob's arm): She cooked, Rob.

      • Karen: Hey Poodle.
        Jack: Who's your daddy?
        Karen: You are.

      • Grace: (To Karen, Rob, and Ellen) Put down the cheese and return to the picnic area!

      • Jack: "Running late" is gay for "I'm blowing you off."
Will: Really? What's gay for "get out?"
Jack: (Without hesitation) That would be "Good morning."
        Both: Good morning Jack.

      • Will: There's this whole myth that it's easier when two guys are involved. Totally untrue. It is not so easy for a guy to meet another guy in this city.
Jack: (Runs into the apartment) It's raining men! Hallelujah!

      • Rob: What's that smell?
Grace: It's cat pee. A cat has peed. The entire apartment is soaked in cat urine, okay?

      • Karen: Grace, you're stuffed in a box getting rid of ass plaque. Take it as a sign. This evening is a bust.

      • Will: You're gonna love it here. I don't think it smells anything like cat pee.

      • Karen: For God's sake, it's just gonna be the four of us! Grab a bottle, hunker down and pray for daylight!

    • NOTES (2)

      • This is the first episode aired after the show moved to the Tuesday 9:00 slot.

      • Karen tells Rosario, "Hey, you're on the clock, tamale. Get to work!" After pressure from Latin groups, the offending "tamale" was over-dubbed with "honey" when it premiered on 9/21/99. A subsequent repeat airing on 12/17/99 restored the scene. NBC Entertainment president Garth Ancier later said, "I think we overreacted the first time." However, on 8/3/2000, "tamale" was again substituted with "honey" (and the camera angle on Karen was changed). The original version appears on the Season 2 DVD.

    • ALLUSIONS (6)

      • Rob: I am the Al Pacino of back problems - 'Sciatica, Sciatica!'
A funny and obvious reference to Al Pacino's famous scene in Dog Day Afternoon, where he is a bank robber talking to a detective, surrounded by cops who are ready to shoot at any moment. He screams 'Attica Attica' several times, egging on the crowd and recalling the terrible occurrences at Attica Correctional Facility, where 39 people died in 1971 after a controversial police intervention - 29 inmates and 10 hostages.

      • Jack: (Runs into the apartment) It's raining men! Hallelujah!
The title and main line from The Weather Girls' 1982 hit song, "It's Raining Men."

      • Episode Title: Guess Who's Not Coming To Dinner

This is a clear reference to the 1967 movie Guess Who's Coming to Dinner starring Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy and Sidney Poitier.

      • Will: Oh, Cybill, what's with the gloves? Did the eczema flare up again?
A quick stab at Joan Rivers' famous red-carpet interview with Cybill Shepherd.

      • Jack: I just adore a penthouse view.
This line comes from the famous opening song to Green Acres, which is sung by Eva Gabor. This was also the part sung by Megan Mullally, who plays Karen, during the 2005 Emmys

      • Karen: Great dress. Where are Fred and Ethel?
Fred and Ethel Mertz were characters on I Love Lucy, a 1950s CBS comedy.
