This is the first appearance of Grace's father, Martin Adler.
James Burrows received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on this episode.
Grace is supposed to look like she fell into a water hazzard, but her hair looks barely wet in the golf house.
Will: Is that... a girdle?
Jack: No, it's called a 'man girdle.'
Jack: I can't believe you did this to me! How did you know I was gonna make a fool of myself?
Will: Just a hunch. Don't feel bad, Jack. Truth is, I played this joke because... really I'm the one who's insecure.
Jack: You are?
Will: (Laughs) No. It's you.
Will: Hi. I'm Will. You must be my blind date.
Desmond: Hi, I'm Desmond. You must be my sighted date.
Will: Oh, so you're actually--
Desmond: Oh, I hope you're not going to say wearing the same outfit as you.
Martin: So how's work? They--they like you there?
Grace: Uh, Dad, it's just me and Karen.
Karen: And the answer is no.
Originally scheduled to air April 28, 2005. It was bumped earlier in the day by NBC to air a primetime press conference by President Bush that aired at 8pm ET.
Jack & Will: "You've been Pink'd!"
This is an allusion to the popular show "Punk'd" hosted by Ashton Kutcher where pranks or hilarious situations are played on unsuspecting people. Jack gave it a twist to make it gay-themed by using the color of pink for "Pink'd".
Jack: Besides... I've been busy developing my new show at Out TV. It's very hush-hush, very secret, very Wisteria Lane.
A quick reference to the street name made famous on the show Desperate Housewives.
Episode Title: It's A Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World
The title is a parody of the star-filled 60's film It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.
