  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (10)

    • (Jack walks into the room)
      Will: Look, it's Notorious F.A.G.

    • Rosario: Mr. Beverley Leslie, here's your B-52 with one ice cube.
      Beverley: Thank you, sweetie.
Karen: I thought your drink was a blackberry julep with a baby aspirin chaser.

    • Jack: Male's here, and he is hot. Oh and we also got some letters.

    • Grace: This isn't a farm! This is Queens!
Will: I don't know what happened, last time I swear there were cows here.

    • Karen: Where the hell have you been?
Rosario: Riding a Llama in Neverland. Where do you think I've been?

    • Sister Louise: My family sent me to a convent when I was three. Actually, they told me I was going to the zoo. I was all excited. They got me dressed up, gave me a lollipop, I ended up here. All I wanted to do was see the penguins. Ironic, isn't it? What's sex with a man like?

    • (Trying to start up her Uncle Jerry's old car)
Grace: That's weird. Will, what do you think's wrong?
Karen: (to Jack) She just asked a fairy an engine question. Oh, my God. We're all gonna die in this car.
Will: Karen, you're not gonna die. It'd take a silver bullet and a wooden stake to do that.

    • Rosario: Miss Karen...
      Karen: Rosie! Are you back?
      Rosario: I'm back.
Karen: Where the hell are my slippers
Rosario: Have you looked up your ass, you drunken fool?

    • Jack: I think there's something wrong with your car.
Grace: What are you talking about? It's purring like a kitten.
Karen: Yeah. A kitten who smokes 10 packs a day.
Will: God, this is like a Cheech and Chong movie.

    • Karen: Well, well, well. El pollo's come home to roost. How's Beverley?
Rosario: Miss Karen, I was just--
Karen: Don't insult me with your lies. I know where you were... Scrubbing floors for Beverley Leslie. I can smell his generic cleaning products all over you.

  • NOTES (3)

    • The producers originally planned to bring back Joan Collins who appeared in the season 2 episode "My Best Friend's Tush", but when she refused the character of Beverly Leslie was created.

    • This episode was filmed on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at CBS Studio Center.

    • A few catholic groups protested this episode, due to the fact that openly gay star Ellen DeGeneres was playing a nun. Producers declined to respond, saying "it would only add fuel to a pointless fire."

    • Jack: I finally found my roots Karen. It's like my whole life I've been waiting to exhale.

An allusion to the movie Waiting to Exhale, based on the lives of African American women.

    • Karen: Where the devil are my slippers?

This is an allusion to the movie My Fair Lady based on the play Pygmalion, which is used a lot in this series. This line is the last line of the movie, when Eliza comes back to Professor Higgins, much like Rosario came back to Karen.

    • Jack: Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find out what it means to be black - like me.
Black Like Me is a novel by John Howard Griffin. Griffin, a priviledged white man, used medications and dye to darken his skin and traveled around the South disguised as an unemployed black man in the late 1950's. The book describes his experiences during the social experiment.

    • Episode Title:

This is a reference to the short-lived television series My Mother the Car, which was named the second worst show of all time by TV Guide in 2002.

    • Karen: Aah! Get off me, Tattoo. Aah! Get off of me!
A funny reference to the character Tattoo on the show Fantasy Island.

    • Will: Look, it's Notorious F.A.G.
A quick and funny parody of the nickname for the rapper Biggie Smalls.

    • Will: Here's the story, of a lovely lady. Grace: That's me!
A funny reference to the opening theme of The Brady Bunch.

    • Grace: I mean, what do you need with a car anyway? Can't you fly?
Grace refers to Sally Field's character Sister Bertrille in the TV Show The Flying Nun.
