Episode Summary

EDIT
Nice In White Satin
AIRED:
Will learns that Karen missed her physical, so he takes her to one of the finest doctors in the city. It is not until after the doctor does a demonstration on Will that Karen obliges. While at the office, Jack flirts with a male nurse, and he later announces that he's going to be a nurse himself. The problem is, training costs $2,700, and Will and Karen are reluctant to give him the money. Once they pay the fees, Jack, fickle as ever, announces that he's taken up surfing, and that he needs $1,600 for lessons. Will and Karen are about to let the nursing school know of his decision to drop out until Jack comes up with an inventive way to feed Karen her calcium pills.moreless

  • I love will & grace but they did not do a good job on this episode. Nurse Sheila just ruined the whole episode but not entirely. I liked that joke that the Docter made "What's this? it's not miam must be urine" LOL!.moreless

    4.7
So that was funny when Karen brought a X-Ray of a Cat and Karen impersonated a Cat LOL!. I loved the part when Will's watch rang in time for Karen to take her Calcium and Jack got down and fed the vitamin intravenously like he was feeding it to her like a Cat LOL!. Out of all of the scenes the half of the Hospital scene has to be the worst when Karen is getting her check up. And if I was that doctor I would not despise his partner doctor so much and scream at him something so hateful. So I give this episode 2 out of 5 stars.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Debra Messing only had a small appearance in this episode, in a scene at the very beginning of the episode, where she was at KFC on the phone with Will.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Dr. Hershberg: Who left this cup of warm apple juice on the counter? It's not 'myan' (to Karen) it must be 'urine'!

    • Dr. Hershberg: (after oogling his nurse and she leaves) If she weren't my sister I would SO tap that ass.

    • Karen: I went to the doctor. Here, my x-ray. Happy? Sheesh.
Will: This is the x-ray of a cat.
      Karen: Meow?

    • Karen: Dear God, if I'm OK I promise I will dedicate the rest of my life to serving you.
Will: It says here you're fine.
Karen: (unfolds hands, open eyes, stares at the ceiling, looking to God and crossing fingers with a smirk on her face) Fall for it again, God! haha
Will: You just punk'd the almighty.

    • Nurse Sheila: Here you go doctor, your instruments have been lubed and sterilized, and so have I.
Will: Hey, um, Nurse Sheila. You-- You were once my nurse at the sperm clinic.
Nurse Sheila: Hmm, I'm not so good with faces, drop your pants; I'll see if it rings a bell.

    • Karen: Honey, I know it's scary. Hey, when I started working in the corporate world of Grace Adler designs I was terrified. Would she like me? Would I be good at my job? And now look at me, honey, I'm one of the richest women in the world. Yes there's no connection but if you pause in the right places and emphasise the right words it sounds very inspiring.

    • Will (on the phone with Grace): Well, I miss you so much. But I'm so proud of the work you're doing. Have you met Angelina Jolie yet?

    • Karen: Will, I got the results of my physical back and I'm a-scared to open 'em. Will you look for me?
Will: What are you afraid they're gonna find some blood in your alcohol?

    • Will: Karen, did you go to your physical today?
      Karen: Yeah, I did, uh-huh.
Will: Don't lie to me. You are on the board of Walker, Inc. now. You have to prove you're in good health, or at least the black market organs that make you up are in good health.

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Title: Nice in White Satin

This is a reference to the 1967 song "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues.

    • Will: (on seeing Jack bending over waxing his surfboard) Oh look, Beach Blanket Butt crack.

This is a reference and play on words to the famous San Francisco revue show Beach Blanket Babylon, the longest running show of its kind in the world, and also to the 1965 film Beach Blanket Bingo, starring Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello, the fourth in the series of "beach party" movies, featuring all the usual suspects, including surfers.
