Day 7 Statistics
Men: Andy Roddick (USA) at 141mph
Women: Venus Williams (USA), Sabine Lisicki (GER) at 121mph
Andy Murray (GBR) v Stanislas Wawrinka (SWI) 3hrs 57mins
Venus Williams (USA) v Ana Ivanovic (SER) 47mins
Andy Murray: (On beating Stanislas Wawrinka) It was pretty special, I thought Stan played a great match. The standard he set at the start was tough to keep up with. He was playing great and he came out with some big shots. In five-set matches there are these momentum shifts sometimes.
Melanie Oudin: (On Briton's Laura Robson) I know Laura's playing well. Different people do well at different ages. There's different things I want to do but this is so worth it for me. I'm hoping to make some new friends on the women's tour.
Robin Soderling: (Losing yet again to Roger Federer) Every time I go on court, I believe I can win. I always believe in myself. I think I'm getting closer. I played better today than the last couple of times. I think I deserved a better ending today.
Ana Ivanovic: (Having to retire during her 4th round match) It was really disappointing. I felt my form was getting better and better. I felt good out there, I was playing better each match, and I was looking forward to the challenge of playing Venus. I'm just disappointed I didn't get the chance to finish the match.
Novak Djokovic: (Playing on Court 3) You have so many important encounters today, so many good players, interesting matches. I'm not annoyed or anything, it's alright. You can't play on Centre Court all the time.
Ivo Karlovic: (On his next round opponent) It's going to be extremely difficult against Federer because he's obviously the best, almost ever, but I'm going to have my chances, so we'll see.
Dinara Safina: (On playing under the roof) It was great, very nice. It was a really nice atmosphere, the crowd got louder. The conditions didn't feel any different. I won, so everything was perfect.
Lleyton Hewitt: (On his fans) They've been great, fantastic. I draw a lot of emotion and energy from them. It's been nice playing on Court Two the last couple of matches. I've played in a lot more hostile places than here. I think they've been great. For an opponent, I'm sure they're not thrilled - but they're not in their face either.
Andy Roddick: (On facing Lleyton Hewitt in the next round) I think Lleyton and I have built up a healthy respect for each other over the years. We're a couple of old guys now. It's something I always look forward to.
Andy Roddick: (After beating Tomas Berdych) It's definitely the best I've played so far. I'm having so much fun. I love playing here. It's an honour and that's something that's never lost on me.
Wimbledon's new Centre Court roof was brought into action for the first time at the Grand Slam tournament. Rain interrupted the 4th round match between Dinara Safina and Amelie Mauresmo on Monday. Play was suspended during the second set and covers brought on and the roof was soon activated.
The roof remained closed for the whole duration of Andy Murray's 4th round match against Stanislas Wawrinka, this match finished under lights 10.38PM local time after a 5 set thriller.
