In a simple quiet town where usually nothing much ever happens, and where there is not much else to do, the town's characters are often mesmerised and awed by the intrinsic nature of the wind, and often 'amuse' themselves by exercising their ability to float into the sky and take flight. One such character is Nao, who discovers herself when she discovers the wind.

Nao Ueshima, a young 8th grader discovers that her school math teacher, Mr. Taiki, has the knowledge and ability to control the wind. And learns of a clan of 'windhandlers' known as the Kazetsukai. The discovery sparks Nao and her friends, Miki and Jun, on a discovery to learn more about the secret of wind control.
