Brian and Helen plan a lovely, high brow cultural trip to New York to see "Rent" (theatrical performance). Like most of their plans, nothing goes as planned. The tickets are no good, a con man robs them blind and the only way that they can get enough money to return home, is by persuading patrons of a gay bar that Helen is a highly talented drag queen entertainer.
Much of this is very funny, especially if you planned a trip or a vacation that did not go as planned. The sequence at the gay bar is funny, without being offensive. I was a tad less thrilled with the 'B' story in this episode.
Basically, goofy Joe hurts his back and is now stuck in the house with Antonio. It is not bad by any means, but I wonder if this was really the best idea that they came up with for these two characters.
OK, it is funny. Yes, It is nice to see the focus on these two characters and having them work to together more, but it basically boils down to a pretty standard 'B' story with
injured Joe and overly talkative Antonio.
