Even though in the previous episode "Sports & Leisure" it is established that Brian, Joe, Helen, Lowell, and Fay attempt to avoid social interaction with Roy because he is unpleasant and difficult, it seems like it is simply assumed that Roy is coming to Joe and Brian's house for the Boston College-Providence game. This is never explained and quite mystifying, as there is never a moment when the brothers make up with Roy or he seems to have mended his ways. Why would they do everything they can to try to avoid spending time with Roy a few months before and then, when his behavior has not noticeably changed, he is suddenly one of their old buddies who comes over to watch the football game?
After Helen has her wisdom teeth out and Joe first brings her home, she has cotton balls stuffed in the sides of her mouth. Joe asks her to say, "You have dishonored the Corleone family." He is attempting to get her to do an impersonation of Marlon Brando's character, mob boss Don Vito Corleone in the classic movie "The Godfather."
