When the Hero's and Fairy's arive back at Alfea, they find that nothing has changed. Brandon, Sky, Knutt, Stella, and Bloom head for Alfea to get back the Dragon fire.

Now at Cloudtower, the gang continue to search for the flame. They arive at cloudtower to find that the whole school has been taken over by Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. They decide to help the students of Cloudtower. They find Riven and get him to help them. They help Miss Griffen and the other witches escape, and fight off some monster. They split into two groups and continue the search for the flame, but will they find it in time?moreless

Bloom comes up with a desperate plan to sneak into Cloudtower to get back her powers. But will the journey prove to be too dangerous? Riven too is getting desperate. His only hope of escape is to jump out a window. Is he falling to his deamoreless

The Winx and Specialists arrive safely back at Alphea. Faragonda's joy at seeing them unharmed however is tempered by her worry about Professor Griffen, who she has still been unable to contact.

Prof Griffen meanwhile is locked in the dungeons at Cloudtower. In the neighboring room Riven has been kept prisoner. While trapped Riven is forced to take a good look at himself. He realizes that though he has many horrible qualities, he is not the monster people might take him to be. He knows that even though he did everything in his power to break all ties with Sky and the others, they are still his friends. This thought gives him hope and the courage to break out of the dungeon.

When Riven finds Prof Griffen locked in the next room he tries to set her free but is interrupted when the Trix's creatures attack. Griffen urges him to run, saying her students are already working on a potion to save her. Riven tries to make a run for it, but is trapped. He has no choice but to jump out the window. We have no way of knowing if he survived the fall.

Back in Alphea as preparations to defend the next attack are underway, Bloom has come up with a plan. She, Stella, Sky and Brandon are going to go to the very heart of the battle, Cloudtower itself, to try and get back the Dragon flame. She argues that the Trix would never suspect someone to come into enemy territory, as it is the height of foolishness. Knut, the ogre, offers to lead them through the old underground corridor system connecting the three schools.

Musa, Techna and Flora are forced to stay behind, as their powers are required at Alphea. But their tearful good byes with Bloom and the others are cut short by another attack from the Trix. The Specialists and Fairies together fight the massive army and manage to hold their own.

In the confusion Bloom and the others slip away. The underground passageway is riddled with unknown creatures, as the company has to fight, and run away, many times in their attempt to get to Cloudtower. What they don't realize is that Icy may already be aware of their plan.

Finally Knut finds a passageway that leads them straight to the Cloudtower garbage dump where they are attacked by Beetle roaches. It seems like they are about to lose when help comes in the form of a cloaked stranger, who after defeating the Beetles reveals himself to be non other than Riven. United and on the same side they head into Cloudtower.
