Dante: (pointing his gun at her) Penny for your thoughts, Sara.
Sara: You know, you pull that trigger, you'll be doing both of us a favor. But before you do, just tell me one thing. Why'd you kill my dad?
Dante: Oh... 'cause he just pissed me off. Yeah, you know, every time he looked at me, he had this attitude, you know. Like, he, uh, had x-ray vision or something. You know, like he could see right through me. Like he knew more than everybody else. Yeah, a real expert.
Sara: Well, if that's not a fine reason to kill someone, Captain, then I don't know what is.
Dante: You see that? That's the attitude I'm talking about. You know, Pezzini, a lot of people say you're adopted. But you know what? There's no mistaking who raised you.
Sara: Thank you.
Dante: Your old man looked me in the eye one time and told me he was gonna take me down like you did a few weeks ago. And guess what? He was wrong too.
Irons: (as Dante prepares to go after Sara) As you lay dying, Bruno, remember this: I warned you.
Sara: (telling Danny to leave the Rialto) Let's get outta here. We've got time on our side...
Sara: Ever have one of those moments where you feel like something really big just happened?
Danny: Only you don't know what it was? Never. You must be nuts.
Lazar: It can be used only once. It comes with a price of a great pain. If you choose to take this journey, you will remember very little.
Elizabeth Bronte: Behold Sara, time runs both ways. Remeber everything you've learned, my dear. Time is elastic, fluid, flexible, reversible. Use it.
Ian2: (holding Gabriel by the throat) I would be happy to free him...from his earthly bonds.
Irons: And yes, I did order James Pezzini killed. I could never let emotional attachments stand in the way of you fulfilling your...well, my destiny.
Irons: Gabriel, how appropriate. The angelic herald. The messenger.
Irons: Once you passed the Periculum, you became the most special human being on the planet. The Witchblade bonded with you on a cellular level, making your body a veritable fountain of new genetic material. You are the most highly evolved lifeform on the planet. Your blood is invaluable...life prolonging.
Sara: Did you order him to have my father killed?
Irons: Strictly speaking, you never had a father, Sara
Sara: You know what I mean. James Pezzini.
Irons: Of course. I did not order your father killed. Nor did I order your lover or your partner killed. I'm not the master of the universe.
Jake: Sara, I know my timing sucks, but I'm in love with you.
Sara: You're right. Your timing on that does suck. (Dante enters with a gun)
Dante: Boys, girls. (Sara starts to run, but Jake catches her arm)
Jake: Pez. Uh, uh.
Sara: Son of a *****, Jake!
Dante: Hey, McCartey, that was a good one. Pezzini, I love you too.
Danny: Concerned for Sara, aren't you, Gabriel?
Gabriel: Who are you?
Danny: A friend of Sara's...and yours. Trust Detective McCartey. He saved your life.
Gabriel: Grateful I am. Trusting I'm not.
Ian2: (while being catechized by Irons) I know I only exist because you allow it.
Irons: What do you remember?
Ian2: That my primary mission is to protect you. Following that, I protect Sara Pezzini, the wielder of the Witchblade.
Sara: Can I trust Jake McCartey?
Danny: You never truly know what someone's gonna do until they do it. Until the critical moment.
Gabriel: Look, I'm not leaving you alone, Sara.
Sara: You are if I say you are.
Gabriel: Oh, yeah? What are you gonna do? You gonna amp up your little Witchblade and cut me?
Dante: Where is she? Where's Sara Pezzini?
Ian: She graces the intersection of primal cause and pervasive entropy.
Sara: Didn't your mother ever teach you not to sneak up on people?
Ian: My mother- strangely silent in all matters of import...
Sara: If Jake really is a Federal Agent, I hope going public with this won't devalue my testimony.
Gabriel: No, McCartey'll come through. He saved my life.
Sara: Grateful, I am. Trusting, I'm not.
Gabriel: (holding up a scanner tracking Jake's cellphone) Well, yeah, me neither. That's why I've been keeping tabs on him.
Irons: (when Ian begs for Sara's life) And it is also written, 'As for this worthless slave, throw him out into the darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' Be gone, Ian. Your darkness awaits.
Ian: It is written that no man can serve two masters. I thought I could prove the exception. I was mistaken.
The DVD release of this episode includes a mini featurette of Gabriel speculating on the events that happened after Ian2 killed him, including Sara resetting time. Gabriel apparently has some memory of his death, presumably gained when he touched the Witchblade in the second season episode "Static", and has his consciousness expanded by the experience.
Lazar speaks to Sara directly for the second time, but this is the only time in which he passes along information about the powers of the Witchblade. The only other time which shows him speaking to Sara is the Witchblade telefeature, where he asks Sara if she's okay after Danny's funeral.
When Sara puts on the Witchblade in the car with Danny the first time, it's still in it's initial, simpler form. When she puts it on in the car after she reverses time, it's in the form it took after Sara took full possession of it.
Dante is killed with a White Bull bullet.
Sara has the ability to reverse time, but she can only reverse it once. It comes with a great price. Sara will remember very little.
More than one Ian exists, but they have different levels of agression. Irons had him created, replicated and genetcally enhanced using preserved stem cells of Elizabeth Bronte and the expertise of well financed researchers, including Dr Immo, who currently oversees Irons' research on longevity.
Elizabeth Bronte had a daughter, who never wielded the blade, but did give birth to Sara. Lazar kidnapped Sara in infancy and placed her with James Pezzini. Somewhere in her bloodline formed certain biological anomalies.
Irons' contact with the Witchblade gave him a longer lifespan, but the effects have been wearing off. Once Sara passed the Periculum, Sara became the most special human being on the planet. The Witchblade bonded with her at a cellular level, making her body a veritable fountain of new genetic material. Sara is the most highly evolved lifeform on the planet. Her blood is invaluable. It's life prolonging.
Either Gabriel can see Danny, or Danny can make himself visible to others besides Sara when he chooses.
Gabriel can see the Witchblade bracelet transform into a gauntlet.
Ian is torn between his loyalty to Irons and his devotion to Sara. Instead of choosing, Ian lets Dante and his men open fire on him.
Lazar Sightings:
*Lazar and Sara walk pass each other on the street after she meets with Jake to discuss a setup against Dante.
*Sara sees Lazar in a Witchblade vision. Lazar is lifting Sara as a baby.
*Lazar appears on the second floor of Irons mansion and warns Sara that she can only reverse time once and that she will remember very little afterwards.
*Lazar is sweeping the sidewalk after time is reversed. Sara decides not to pursue Gallo at the Rialto. Lazar watches Sara and Danny drive off and smiles.
Music in this episode:
"Cry Little Sister (Remix)" - Gerald McMann
"Midnight Rider" - The Allman Brothers Band
"Shaking the Tree" - Peter Gabriel
"Child O' Mine" - Roger Daltrey
Irons: As for this worthless slave, throw him out into the darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
This is a line from the Bible, in the Book of Matthew, chapter 25, verse 30.
Gabriel: This time next week, you're gonna be getting more hits than Napster used to.
Napster was an internet music file sharing service created by Shawn Fanning while attending college and operating between June 1999 and July 2001. Its technology allowed people to easily share MP3 format song files with each other, thus leading to the music industry's accusations of massive copyright violations.
