  • The team investigates the disappearance of a young woman who recently won $32 million playing the lottery.

This episode of Without a Trace could be classified as a darker version of the 1998 comedy Waking Ned Devine. I was reminded of that particular movie throughout this episode. That aside I did fine this episode to be very entertaining and well done. The scenes of Lacey "leaving" the camp ground and "accepting" the pizza delivery were well done. They certainly had me fooled. We have seen many examples in entertainment and real life of how money brings out the best and worst in people. This episode is definitely no exception. It still amazes what money does to people.moreless
  • A girl called Lacy goes missing after winning the lottery.

Lacy befriends a man called Demand who after a while dies of cancer she was his only good friend. Whilst clearing out his stuff she finds a lottery ticket and finds out that it is a winning ticket of 32 million dollars. After a while she tells her friend Paula that she has found out that Desmond has a son, she feels guilty that the money doesn't really belong to her and that she wants to give the money to Alex Demands son, so much for Paula being Lacey's friend. What greed does to some people? Paula killed Lacy in the end by accident over the money. This episode was ok but not as good as the last three.

Glad Jack is back but oh boy is he going to be in trouble with Sam that's if she finds out that Jack has asked Gale who works for the legal council department to do a back ground check on Brian Donavan who turns out to have had sex with a minor in 20006 no charges were brought as they didn't want their daughters name dug through the mud, he who is the father of Sam's baby, if she does find out at some point I don't think she will be very happy with Jack somehow but Jack might go to her with it so she can sort it out with Brian in her own way, or Jack might go to Brian with it and tell him to get lost, should be interesting to see Where they go with this!!!.

Jack was asking Gale where does she see herself in a few years from now? Gale says that she is interested in moving into violent crimes department; Jack says when that time comes call me and hell make the recommendations. Are they introducing us to some body new to the team at some point? Oh by the way I hope Jacks hair hurries up and grows again soon it's a bit to short but maybe he had to have it cut short like it for the story lines!!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: The victim, Lacy, wins the New York City Lottery but it does not exist in state of New York. The only lotteries in New York State are the New York State Lottery and the multi-state Powerball Lottery.

    • Goof: When Jack Malone presents Samantha Spade with a banana, he holds the banana out to Sam during the dialogue. The camera angle changes as he turns to sit on her desk and the banana is no longer in his hand or anywhere else in the scene. However, as he gets up to leave, it's back in his hand.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • (Jack hands Samantha a banana)
      Samantha Spade: Thanks?
Jack Malone: it in a fruit basket. Although, I don't know how a banana says I'm sorry you got shot.
Samantha Spade: Maybe booze would have been better.
