  • Great story, well written

This was a great episode. It wasn't the best episode of the series, but it did stand out for me. We saw more of Martin's drug addiction unfold - I almost wished someone had seen him go through the trash to get those last few pills. Sam found out that Jack was seeing someone - even after she moved on with Martin, she clearly still harbors some feelings for Jack. Elena got some more screen time - it was nice to see her pop out a little more. It was funny how she sold Sam about Jack's tie. I wish we had seen Danny and Viv a bit more!

Keiko Agena was fantastic -- nice to see her out of her Gilmore Girls role. I still find it hard to believe that the actress is in her 30s! She looks very youthful. Nice idea to have Jack Malone in Japan while LaPaglia was there in real life. Overall, not the best episode -- but it was well written and well executed.moreless
  • First to get Japan right!

A former long-time resident of Japan, I rated this episode so highly for one thing and one thing alone: they got Japan right. For those who may not know, American TV and film often flubs Japan and the Japanese language so badly it's unrecognizable. Case in point is a a recent episode of CSI-NY in which a broker's disgruntled client barks crap, unintelligible Japanese at his moll girlfriend (replete with tatoos, suggesting she's more likely Chinese or Filipino). Contrast such garbage with the fluid, correctly pronounced Japanese of the Tokyo investigator in this episode. And God it was great to hear a Japanese gangster actually sound like a Japanese gangster (played by a noted Japanese actor who's actually played yakuza parts [Hiroki Matsukata]). Kudos to Without a Trace for finally getting Japan right!moreless
  • Elena's Turn!

Although, the episode did not reveal Elena's personal life, it was basically her episode.

The plotline on it's own was boring, and kinda made no sense whatsoever....which is not surprisingly shocking, since everything from season 4 doesn't make any sense.

I knew Marty was going to retrieve his pill....his playing the storyline so great, but I just wish the show would focus on it more.

Oh and Sam finds out that Jack is seeing someone....like I give a rat's ass!

    Overall, another boring episode.moreless
  • Did not care for the story

This was my least favorite story so far of the season. I did not like that a marine was accused of rape in another country. I especially hated that the one who did rape the Japanese girl got away with it for so long. I did not like the story line of the former girlfriend's husband pulling a gun on the missing person.
