  • Jerry is one giant bug :D LOL

After Jerry is bitten by a bug from the wizard world he is transformed into a giant bug himself. Meanwhile, Harper joins the Alien Language League Zeke and Justin are in and they hold the annual banquet at the Sub Station. I thought that this was a superb episode of "Wizards of Waverly Place". I haven't seen this episode in a while but I watched it earlier today and it is still enjoyable to watch. My score is a 9 because the storyline did seem to drag and Jerry being in a giant bug makeup is quite bad. This is Disney Channel though and they want to do want keep this show kid-friendly so so it's still fun to watch. Justin and Zeke speaking alien language and wearing their alien suits was very funny. Jerry being bitten by a wizard bug and Alex saying "Oh no, I can't even see it... I'll go get the magnifying glass because I can't even see it" (or something like that) was very funny. That chef boy named Joey (I believe) saying "That's the biggest bug I've ever seen" and running out of the Sub Station screaming was very funny. Max thinking that Justin's alien club is his club was very funny as well. The very ending with Jerry destroying Justin's trophy is very funny as well. Overall, despite the storyline being a little dragged and seeing Jerry in the bug makeup being quite bad/lame, this was an enjoyable episode of "Wizards of Waverly Place". 9/10moreless
  • alex's dad gets bitten by a bug because alex doesn't close the portal door and throughout time alex's dad jerry turns into a bug , it is justins senior year party and his dad is a bug and everything gets ruined but in the end things workmoreless

i think this movie was okay, i have seen better wizard of waverly place, ididn't like tis one that much because it shows how alex is not responsible and i like alex

and plus i hate bugs that is why i don't like this episode that much.the animation of alex's dad jerry was terrible, being a bug was distugsting if it were not bout bugs i would've liked it better

    that is my opinion.

but love the tv show wzard of waverly place

    good show

you should watch the original movie

    it is awesome

i also like it because it uses a lot of magic in it

    so yeah

if you really want to watch this episode

it should be playing on television

if not try borrowing the series on dvd

my opinion is that they should use more magic

they should use more magic in the seriesmoreless
  • dad's buggin out

Wizards of Waverly Place is a fine comedy, it is the lone bright spot of the Disney Channel programming block, but this was just a bad episode, no other way to put it. I do not want to see papa Russo dressed up as a bug (that is one idea that never should have left the writer's room.)

And the Alien Language Club? Are you serious? This is so far beneath Justin, so far beneath this show that I felt really embarrassed to be watching it.

Season 3 has been pretty strong prior to this, but I was not a fan of this episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (4)

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Justin: In the meantime, our sci-fi movie scene players are going to come up and perform one the greatest alien scenes of all time: E.T. raids the refrigerator!

    • Alex: (about her leaving the magic portal open) But it gets so stuffy in here. Probably our lair is inside a freezer, where you don't throw out vegetables until they start growing other vegetables.
Jerry: Hey. We haven't paid for mushrooms in over ten years!

    • (After the bug bites Jerry, it falls to the ground. Alex looks at it)
Alex: It's dead! (She drops the book on it) Now it's a stain!

    • (about Justin's banquet)
Alex: Yeah, I don't need to know when it is because I'm busy.
Justin: Um, no. I checked your calender, and you don't have any plans for the next thirty years.
      Alex: Ha! I don't have a calender.
Justin: Ha! People who don't have calenders, also don't have plans. (celebrates in a "in your face" fashion) OWNED! You so are owned!
(Justin leaves and Harper gives Alex a "too bad" look)
      Alex: Yeah, sometimes he wins.

    • Alex: I like the corn cut off the cob. Cobs are too heavy. It's like eighty percent of the weight you pick up that you're not even eating!

  • NOTES (1)

    • Paulie Litt returns in this episode as Joey. This is his first since the season one episode "Curb Your Dragon", where the character was originally named Frankie.

    • Justin and Zeke do a reenactment of Steven Spielberg's film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, about a young boy who befriends a alien. The film was a blockbuster hit, and is considered one of the greatest science fiction films of all time.

    • When Zeke tells Justin the alien word for soup, he says the "mama-se mama-sa mama ko-ssa" chant from the song "Soul Makossa" by Manu Dibango, which was later used in Michael Jackson's song "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'".

    • The plot of this episode is very similar to Franz Kafka's novel The Metamorphosis, about an everyday salesman who finds himself transforming into a giant insect.
